Sci-Fi question

I am trying to plan our June trip. I have been looking at the Sci-Fi lunch menu and I have a few questions.
Has anyone every tried the chili or bbq ribs?
What were your favorite dishes?

Sci-Fi is one of my favorite restauarants. I have never had one bad experience with the service or food.

Its great to see all of the old sci-fi trailers. I have had the chilli for lunch and was enough to hold me over until dinner.

My favorites for lunch is the reuben and the smoked turkey sandwich. My father has had the ribs for dinner and found them to be quite good. For dinner my favorite has been the Sautéed Pork Medallions. Get a Big Bang for Dessert.

Overall very very good. You can't go wrong with Sci-Fi

I've dined at the Sci Fi several times and have never been disappointed with the service or food. I love sitting in the cars and feeling like you're at the drive-in again. Since I don't care for either bbq or chili, I can't help you there, but I usually get a cheeseburger, fries and a chocolate shake.

I would recommend SciFi only for parties of an even number. There are three in my family, and I did not enjoy eating alone in the backseat. I had the pork medallions (for dinner) and they were ok, but nothing special.

WE had lunch there a few weeks ago and ordered the hamburger. It was very good. We didn't try anything else because I had read so many posts saying to go with the hamburgers. Also, the next day we had lunch at the ABC Commissary. It was terrible! I ordered a hamburger and I couldn't eat it and I'm not a picky eater

I know the Sci-Fi gets bad reviews, by some, on these boards, but DW and I have eaten there, maybe 6 times. We enjoy the experience. We have found the service and food to be good. On our Feb. trip my sister and BIL had the chili at the Sci-Fi and they liked it very much. I had the ribs and thought they were good.

During our 28 stays at WDW I have found the food and service to be inconsistent, at most eating places. This might be the reason for different opinions, plus we all have different tastes.

<p>Gary I couldn't agree with you more! Over the years I've been to the Sci-Fi quite a few times... some of them great some of them not so great so inconsistent would be the way I'd describe it. We just had lunch there 2 weeks ago and the food was good but the service wasn't so hot.
<p> We (FH and I) arrived about 45 minutes before our PS(we were starving) and checked in. After about 5 minutes we were seated and looking over the menu. Since there was just the two of us they put is in the backseat (3 rows in our car) of a family's car. Now before when I've eaten there we always had 4-6 people so we always had a car to ourselves but it was kind of weird being right behind people we didn't know... the whole time I was worried we'd be talking to loud or something
<p> As I mentioned the server wasn't that friendly- he got annoyed when FH wanted to get a glowing drink instead of a soda, and he was less attentive to us then he was the families around us. We got our drinks and appetizer(onion rings) at the same time and then our main courses (chesse burgers) came with the sauces we'd asked for to accompany the appetizer. The food was good but my chocolate shake tasted more like a Frosty then a milkshake.

Princess -- the reason your shake tasted like a Frosty is that that is basically what they are at Sci Fi. My dh wanted a black and white (chocolate shake made with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup) and our server said she couldn't do that b/c they come out of a machine already mixed.

If you want a good, old-fashioned shake, try Prime Time or Beaches and Cream.

One of my teens had the ribs at Sci Fi and thought they were okay. Overall, we found our meal, which was last July, average at best. We're in no hurry to return b/c there are so many places with better food.
