Would you pick Sci-fi or Prime-Time Cafe with a five year old boy?

Sci-Fi for the little guy. They are both great, but the whole "50's sit-com sit in Ozzie and Harriet's Kitchen" theme in the prime time might go right over your son's head. LOL though he might get a big kick out of your server telling you to eat all your vegetables.

The Sci-Fi is set up so you sit in cars and watch short clips from really BAD Sci-Fi movies. Make sure when you get to the restaurant, you ask to sit in a car. Its like eating in a drive-in and its a lot of fun.

I would have to say sci-fi! It's so much fun sitting in a car and eatingwhile watching a movie! Prime Time may seem just like home!!!

We already made PS for Prime Time for the day we are at MGM on April 20th. I'm gonna try to call & change it to Sci-fi. From what everyone has said I think he will love it. I hope it's not to late to change. Thanks!

I highly recommend the 'adult' milkshakes at SciFi. My son and his friend love this place and I'm always willing to go along so I can get my milkshake. ;)

Have a great trip.

My ds chose Sci-Fi for his 9th birthday (May 9, which is also Mothers Day...Lucky me!)

He can't wait to go!!

I just called Disney to change to Sci-fi for April 20th,and all they have are odd times. We already have ps for Prime-time that day we will be at MGM. Maybe I'll try back in a day or so. I hope we can get in. It sounds like my son would love it. He keeps asking me how many more days? Maybe we can stop by for the milkshakes. Which ones are your favorite?

Well I give a resounding yes to Prime Time! We LOVE it and our DD has always loved it. While the kids might not get that it's supposed to be a 50's home - they love seeing their parents getting "in trouble" for putting their elbows on the table or wearing their hats inside. My brother just took his 6 and 8 year old girls last month and whenever you ask them about Disney World that's the first thing they tell you was about how "bad" Daddy was. When we took DD for the first time at 6 she loved it because the "mom" just kept fussing over her and hung her picture up and gave us all nicknames. We do it every time we go now and it's really fun when the people sitting all around you are "into" it as well.

We've gone to Sci Fi twice, and while we thought it looked cool, both times our service was SOOO slow! The food is way overpriced for burgers and the like IMO. We go there now just for dessert because we like the shakes.

My son would love seeing us getting in trouble at dinner! He would never let us forget it! I've heard the food is really good here. What do you recommend? What do they have for children?

Why not have lunch at Sci-Fi and a mid afternoon desert break at Prime Time Cafe I'm sure your 5yo would have a great time at both and you to.::yes:: :wave2:

The way I feel about 50's cafe is - I go on vacation to get AWAY from home. So I don't like it very much. I think the food is just average and the entertainment is lackluster. Sci-Fi is such a different experience, it's a much better choice for me. If I want to eat meatloaf while my mom yells at me, I know where she lives!
