Do they only have the choc, vanilla, strawberry or do they have some of the interesting ones like PBJ--I've heard of those at 50's but not at Sci FI. Also, when I made our ADR for 4 people, it had me sign off that our group could be split up--is it hard for a group of 4 to be seated like that? Thanks!

I don't remember if they have any special flavor shakes (I haven't been to Sci-Fi in a few years), but some of the seating is at a normal table and some is in "cars". The cars have a front and back seat which each hold 2 people (maybe 3) so you might be split into two rows of the same car instead of a single table. The car is much more fun than the tables so I wouldn't worry about it.

We had the milk shakes, and we don't believe they are really milk shakes. We think they are just soft serve ice cream in a milk shake cup. They were good, but impossible to suck up into a straw until they had time to melt a bit.

I recently had lunch at Sci-Fi and from what the CM advised me, they only serve the basic flavors. I got a chocolate milkshake and like the previous poster, it was impossible to drink with the straw. I used a spoon. My husband and I are going this weekend and will be trying 50's Primetime Cafe, as they have a better variety.

I made a lot of reservations for 4 people, and it almost always said that we could be split up.... we never were.

Actually most of the cars have 3 "seats" (front, middle, and back) that each hold 2 people. A party of 4 will usually get the front 2 rows and a party of 2 gets seated in the back.

The milkshakes are particularly well blended, that's why they're hard to drink. In many places, the ice cream mostly sits in a lump and then the milk is sort of separate, so you can start drinking it right away. At Sci-Fi they're evenly blended so the whole thing is very thick--no milky part but no lump of ice cream either. I only remember chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry, but my DH's strawberry milkshake was the best he'd ever had--once he let it melt enough to drink.

In 2008, I had an Oreo Milkshake at Sci-Fi - it was lovely!!! Very lovely!

Not sure if the menu has changed but I remember them telling me it was a very popular milkshake so doubt they would take it off the menu!

Enjoy it there - I LOVED it!

I have been to Sci-Fi plenty of times as a group of 4 and we have never been split up nor seen anyone else being split up.
You shouldn't worry about it happening to you.

My husband and I go to Sci-Fi specifically for the specialty milkshakes (the adult variety with alcohol) Holy Cow! They are delicious! We love the Space Monkey...my husband dreams about it.

I have had the Oreo cookie one there SEVERAL times and I love it!!! But like another poster stated the Space Monkey (adult beverage) is also to die for!;)

That's what I was thinking of! Marsha's Martian! Orbiting Oreos! (or something like that!) mmm.

Glad to hear the rave reviews--I already had SPACE MONKEY for me and OREO for Mr. FFerret on our to - do list :) Also glad to hear that the shakes might be a possibility for my kids' drinks on the DDP. :rotfl::rotfl:

First off, parties of 4 always say that you could be split up (it just covers them in case). We had the shakes when we went in January, I had strawberry and DH had chocolate. They were thick but to die for! I love thick milkshakes not the fake shakes from McDonalds that are easy to drink. Enjoy!:cool1:

Just had the Oreo shake last week at Sci-Fi....it was EXCELLENT! They sprinkle finely-crushed cookie crumbs on the top! :thumbsup2
