I am planning to make PS for our meals this week. Can someone give me some info on the Sci Fi At MGM. I think I read somewhere they had ice cubes that glow in the dark. Is this right?? Do you think my 8 year old will like this? I would appreciate any input or ideas on the Sci Fi.

Thanks

I love the Sci-Fi. There is nothing like it. It is cool and dark. My kids are quiet watching the screen.

We love the onion rings. The ice cubes are fun. My DD's had fun playing with them. You turn them on and off by slaming them into the table.

I think your 8 yr old will love the so-fake-they-are-funny video clips. We never miss it.

Sci-Fi Drive In Diner - Guests are seated at tables shaped like vintage cars and are entertained by a series of movie trailers from B-grade Science Fiction films shown on a large drive-in type screen. This restaurants does tend to be dark (and showing old Sci-Fi movie clips) so if your children have trouble with this it might not be the place for you.

Our daughters are 7 & 9 and they thought that this place was "way cool!" You sit two to a row like in a car. The kids burgers and grilled chicken were excellent. Heres a tip from my 7 year old, let the kids sit in the front of the car so they can see the screen. No scary movies, just the old black & white ones we grew up with! Enjoy! We'll be there on Sunday for lunch!

Just got back from a 2 day trip. DS (age 12) wanted to try it. We didn't have PS, but gave it a shot. We were seated at the round tables in the back within 2 minutes! (very happy, since it was Spring Break)

Both kids loved it. DD(age 7) thought it was wierd, but funny. DS thought it was just plain cool. Yes, they sell light up ice cubes.

We used the dining plan here. TONS of food! We shared 2 adults and 1 child's meal between us. (2 adults, and kids total) We had food left over and took it with us. Even 12 year old, couldn't finish his burger. I was worried about the food, but it was all ok, EXCEPT for the fries, which were awful!

Another big thumbs up for Sci Fi! My kids love this place, they are 8 and 10. The food is really good, very large portions and it is so nice relaxing in there. For our short upcoming trip we don't have enough days to do all of our favorites and my kids surprised me by picking Sci Fi over Chef Mickey's! Fine by me...

Yep, my kids (also dh and me) think Sci-Fi is cool. We have to go back; our ice cubes are blinking out...time for new ones. :)

This is DD favorite restaurant. She loves the ice cubes, eating in the cars, and the silly videos. We don't think the food is all that great, but still go once each trip for at least dessert. If you want a basic burger or a good shake or dessert this is a fun place, but don't go for the food, but the atmosphere. Have fun.

How many rows of seats are in the cars? Can a family of 5 fit? Adults 3 children 2. Thanks!

I guess it depends how small the child is. We had 5 but our youngest was in a highchair. The car has two bench seats. I'd say 2 to a seat would be comfortable. There are tables though; if you all want to sit together. If sitting in the cars is what you are interested in, maybe your party could be seated in cars that are side-by-side. Just an idea.

I think you could easily do a row with one adult and the two kids and another row with the other two adults. We did 3 kids in the front (ages 12, 10 and 8) and two adults in the back. My parents were with us, too, and I could swear we were in a car with three sections but no one has mentioned that here so maybe I'm losing my mind ???

The light up ice cubes were a Huge hit. I thought my cheeseburger and onion rings were excellent. My DD ordered mac and cheese from the kid's menu and that left a lot to be desired.

My kids love SciFi. They didn't grow up going to drive-ins like we did,but they loved sitting in the cars. They especially liked that the seats only seat two per row.So a large car would seat 6 in three rows of 2. For some reason, this really appealled to my two older kids. :confused3 The burgers are good and it's a good way to spend an hour resting in a cool place.
