I have heard it's 2 per car, we have a family of 5, me, DH & kids - 7, 4, 2
will they allow 3 to squeeze in?

We just ate here today! I don't know their rules, but as I looked around, there are cars that are 3 rows like the PP said, there are cars that are not rows, but rather a table between the front and back with 6 chairs, and some cars that are 2 rows. As I looked around, I saw one family with 2 adults and a child between then on one row, so if you have a little one they might let you sit 3 and 2, but I don't know if this is the norm or not. FWIW, they were sitting in the front of a car with an empty row and then a couple in the back, not sure if the two groups were related or not, so I can't be sure they didn't seat them in 2 rows they just chose to sit in 1 row.

If you have a reservation, you're guaranteed a "car." Meaning, if you don't have a reservation, the best you can hope for is a table that has a fake car front and you won't face the screen. Plus, good luck getting in at all if you have no reservation.

I'd never take anything but a car, because that's a huge part of the fun, especially for DD. The cars have 2 rows or 3 rows of seats. I don't recommend trying to cram 3 people into one row, even if one of them is little. Just too cramped. And we're not big people. So get a 3 row car and you'll be fine. My DD likes having a row in back all to herself. DH and I sit in front. I think she pretends the car is all hers. :lmao:

Your kids are pretty young and it's dark in there. Likely, they will need help. I'd have one adult sit with each of the two younger ones and let the oldest child pick what row he/she wants to have all to him/herself.

Jrits, we are also a family of five. As a previous poster mentioned, the cars are three rows that comfortably fit two people in each row. But when our youngest was two years old, he sat between my husband and me in the middle row and our two older boys (they were 9 and 10 at the time) sat in the front row. It worked, but it was a bit tight.

Now, our youngest is a pre-schooler and our two older boys are pre-teens. Sci Fi is fun, but since we've been there a few times already, it's not on the top of our repeat list and the seating doesn't work well for us, we've taken it out of rotation.

Hope that helps!

I sat in one row with my 3 & 6 year old and we fit just fine. Nobody wanted to sit alone :)

I'm heading here on saturday and will be a party of 2, will there be others placed infront of or behind of. and if so...if they are in front of us, how hard will it be for my almost 4 yo to see whats going on.

On our first visit when DS was only 5, we fit the three of us just fine in the back seat.

if you have an empty row in your car they will most likely put a couple of hitchhikers in with you. they try to keep cars full. very unfair to expect a full car to yourselves for only 2 people
I can't answer the question of the 4 yr old, since I "SEE" at adult height, but the screen is pretty tall, I don't think they would have a problem. If you are concerned request the front of a car. you might have to wait a bit :confused3 they might have booster seats..

oh, & tell your hitchikers they can pick up the bill:rotfl2:

Last year me and my wife went about 45 min before they opened and were able to get on the list and catch a ride on one of the front cars without a reservation, on a Saturday in early November. The only wait we had was for the place itself to open up. So there is hope if you go and its last minute and you dont have a reservation. Just make you are there well before they open.

2 Years ago about 5 of us showed up spur of the moment for a late lunch and we waited about 15 min and got one of the picnic tables in the back. Still had a blast. This was also on a Saturday before memorial day.

I love this restaurant, my parents took us when i was a teenager for the first time and it remains one of my favorite places to eat at WDW.

On a side didnt they used to serve popcorn years ago while you waited for your food? The last couple times i have been they have not but i vaguely recall they did years ago. Anyone remember that or am i just losing it lol :3dglasses

Everytime we have dined here as a party of 2, we have been the hitchhikers, seated behind a party of 4. That's been at least a dozen times. I read once where someone else on here stated they were seated in the front row as a party of 2 but that has not been my experience. I hope in your case it is.

We are going as three adults next month so I'm sad someone will have to sit alone, but I'm super excited to eat here!

My 3 little ones sat together just fine. They enjoyed being together and i'm glad because we had an odd # also.

Even if one of you has to sit in a different row the rows are so close its almost as if your sitting together. There isnt to much of a gap between each rows.
