Doing this one for the first time, mainly for the kids but I have heard the food is not great, What to order? What are your favorites at Sci Fi?

I had a burger and it was fine. DS had the pizza--he liked it. We are going again next trip--DS insisted--the atmosphere is fun. Enjoy:goodvibes

Stick to basics and you should do fine - burgers, a good reuben, really fine shakes.

We go for lunch as we find the lunch menu much more reliable in terms of food quality. Burgers and Reubens, shakes, fries.

We always go for lunch. The burger has never been a miss for us. I usually sub fries for onion rings...which are great. The ribs have been hit or miss. They have been either great or terrible. We have decided to stick to burgers, fries, onion rings and shakes. It is a great place for lunch since the burgers are only a few more dollars than counter service. They taste much better and the sit down gives you a break from the crowds and heat. :)

We loved this! My husband had The Reuben, and I had an appetizer for my entree- the 7 Bean Beef Chili . We also had the spinach and artichoke dip and it was one of the better ones we'd ever eaten- and we order this at every restraunt we go to!

It was our final meal at WDW and we adored it!

Sci Fi is a MUST eat for us every year (and DS is now 21 and DD-19!) We all order burgers, fries or melon, rueben, shakes, cherry cokes and never a misstep. They refreshed the movies a couple years ago and that was nice for a change. What Fun :thumbsup2This is true Disney magic:wizard:Our next meal there will be June 20th:3dglasses

We had a great meal there...burgers, fries/onion rings and make sure you get a shake- delish!!

My husband and I just visited in May. We had an early lunch ADR and we got the onion rings, I got the shrimp pasta and he got the ribs. We were so full when we left and it was all so good. We liked it so much we went back again another day for lunch. No appetizer this time, we both got the burger. Once again our experience was really good. This place does get mixed reviews tho, so I would say give it a try.

We have been there many times and have never had a bad meal. Its a must do for us, my boys love it there and couldn't wait to take there Mom Mom for the first time. They have really great burgers and milk shakes.:thumbsup2

OOH we love Sci Fi! We always do lunch!! I love the BLT soup, I have had a burger from there that was good, and I love the Chocolate cake dessert with the warm peanut butter in the middle!!

Go for lunch, and go at 11 if you can. It is so nice and peaceful in there when you go early. It is when you go later too, but I love going to the restaurants when they first open.

Burgers and Fries and cheesecake for dessert! :thumbsup2

Ooh can you remember when they changed the movies? I went in October 2005 and loved it-when I took DBf in November 2008, the blinking place had had a kitchen calamity and was shut for the day-wouldn't you know it was the last day of our holiday so we didn't get to change our ADR! :sad2:They did let me take him inside to show him what the place looked like but it was weird seeing it with the lights on!

I agree with the previous posters that its great to see it get some good reviews-anyone would think they served puppies and kittens here the fuss people make!;)

they did?? We last went in June 2008 and the movie clips they were showing then were the same ones I had seen in Aug 1996.

We really love the Sci Fi, always have the burger and shakes.

Dinner isn't good anymore in my opinion since they have changed the menu. I heard lunch is good. They have good burgers. It's a shame this use to be our favorite place to eat. I wish they go back to there good menu.

We used to be big fans of Sci-Fi. I don't plan to try it again for a long, long time after November. Here's a blip from my TR:

We head out to the Sci Fi for our 4:45 dinner reservation and get seated in a car. Then we are let down. The movie clips aren't movie clips anymore. Its a couple cartoons, lots of ads for the snack bar and hardly any campy scary clips from the 50s. Looks like another thing they are trying to tone down. I was really disappointed. We had been telling our 2 Disney World newbies about this restaurant for a year and this is what they got. I felt bad and actually apologized to them. The food has gone downhill too. DD17 & I had the ribs here last time and got them again this time. Now they are half fat. Hardly anything meaty to them. Very disappointing. DH said his steak wasn't really a steak. It was a tenderloin. It was very small. Eating in a car isn't a draw for me here. It was the movies and the food. Now that they're gone, I won't miss the Sci-Fi.

I always get a burger, they're excellent. You can get one at dinner too even though it's not on the menu if you ask.

Like a few other posters said, stick to the basics, burgers, fries, and shakes. Some of their other menu items are below average, at best.
