Sci-Fi Drive-In Theatre

Another :thumbsup2 vote! Definitely one of the most fun AND most relaxing places to eat on our last trip....With an hour and a half walk in wait, while we were sat right away with our adr, I would recommend booking ahead.

We had an excellent server named Marsha there a couple of weeks ago. The folks at the front desk were wonderful too.

My son had a burger and I just had a garden salad but both were very good. I cut a slice of his burger for taste testing purposes. ;)

We love SciFi but more for the experience & atmosphere than the food. It's on our "must do" list for every WDW trip!

DS 7 loves Sci-Fi, especially sitting in the cars and the lighted ice cube in his drink. Food wasnt bad either. :thumbsup2

We took our 9 year old there for lunch last week, she had a great time! The only complaint I had was our server was really terrible!! He was very unpleasant.....

We have walked in once or twice but if you want a specific time,I would make a reservation. Have fun!

We think Sci Fi is the funnest restaurant in WDW! It's my DH and DS's (ages 14 and 16) favorite restaurant. We first visited when the guys were 9 and 11, and it has been a must-do for every trip since then.

Go for lunch instead of dinner and stick to burgers, sandwiches, fries, onion rings, and shakes. I think the complaints about food stem from people ordering the more adventurous items on the menu. Sci Fi does the basics very well.

And for those who asked - you definitely need an ADR for Sci Fi. We've seen many people turned away here who didn't have an ADR, even before the dining plan.

We LOVE this restaurant! Here's a picture our server took of us last summer. (sorry, I really have to learn how to make my pics smaller!)

We are doing this with our Boys this weekend. I have a question on the glow cubes. When the kids get these cups with the cubes, do they have lids. My kids have a way of spilling drinks without lids.

Also, we have the dining plan but I was thinking of paying for the kids out of pocket because I want to get them these drinks with the cubes. Does anyone know if if I can use the DDP and just pay a little extra for the cubes, or would it be easier just to pay for their entire meal out of pocket?

I like the setup with the cars that I see in the pictures. But I don't like 3 rows of seats in the cars. We would need 2 rows, but we don't want to be in back of another family. Do they have cars with 2 rows.

Deelam...
I don't remember seeing cars with only two rows. We were lucky enough to be seated first in the empty car so we were happy to get the front rows.

I do recall cars in the middle of the restaurant with chairs instead of bench seats. They faced each other instead of being in rows. I think they may have been for larger parties though. I'll look thru my photos and see if I caught any of those cars in the picture for your reference.

Our car had 2 rows. I couldn't tell you where it was though??!!!

We love Sci-fi. We order pretty simple stuff, like burgers and shakes, and it is very good. One warning, the first menus we were given last trip did not have burgers, dogs, chicken tenders, etc. It was a late lunch and I think they gave us dinner menus. We asked and then we got a different menu. The atmosphere is cool and relaxing too.

Sorry to OP, but I have vowed to do this every time there is a post on Sci-fi just in case WDW management is reading...PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, CHANGE THE MOVIE CLIPS. They are the same movie clips from when the restuarant opened and need to be changed. Thanks.

John.....re: movie clips: AGREED!!!!! Plus they need to make the reel longer....for the amount of time you spend there you can watch it several times over!

You can use the DDP for the meal and pay oop for the cups with the glow cubes. I did this at Hollywood & Vine this week.

When this place gets bad reviews, it seems to be from people who aren't looking for a burgers, fries, and milkshake kind of experience.

DH and I go every trip. The "drive-in food" is fun and good. The ambience is amazing. Just don't stray too far from the tried-and-true stuff.
