I have a reservation for 2 at Sci Fi for lunch. Have they been seating everyone in a car or are we going to get put at a regular non themed table?

Every time we have gone (party of 2) we ended up in a car and they sat a family of 4 behind us.
We've always been put in a car as a party of two - usually with another group in the car either behind or in front of us.
When was this? Was it post-reopening in July 2020, or prepandemic? We too have ADR at SciFi in January, so we’re wondering whether social distancing, putting only one party per car, means we’ll be seated at a table in the back, not in a car.

I have never been sat at a table when its been a party of 2.
It makes much more sense to be seated in one row of a car when its only 2 people.
Based on my last 2 trips in August and November Disney is no longer social distancing at restaurants or anywhere else like transportation and attractions.

Similar experience. As a party of 2, I think we have always been in front.
We’ve usually been the hitchhikers in the back! I don’t mind either, would just rather be in a car with minimal light and space on the dashboard to read the menu and eat my food than on an ordinary table by the snack bar! :p

In the months following the July 2020 reopening, SciFi was seating parties of 2 in their own separate cars.

More recently, they have installed partitions between the rows in some cars and seem to be seating multiple parties in separate rows.

We were at both SciFi and Oga's last week. We were a party of six at Oga's yet they squeezed us into half a booth, and another party of seven in the other half of the same booth. We were separated by a clear plastic partition.

We ate at Sci Fi in September, they were not seating different parties together. Relatives were there last week & said there are now plexiglass partitions between the car rows & different parties are being seated in the same car.

We go to Sci Fi every trip, (3 or 4 times a year), almost always a party of 2 & we have never been seater at a table, always a car. The few tables that look like a car are usually for parties with a wheelchair or a person of size who wouldn’t be comfortable in the row of a car. The round tables in the back have been for walk up guests who don’t have an ADR.

Ate at Sci'Fi in Feb 2021 and they sat the 2 of us in a car.

Thanks, all. I’m glad to know we should be in a car and guess we’ll manage with the plexiglass.

They must only have modified some cars for multiple parties. We were there 2 weeks ago and our car did not have a plexiglass divider. I also asked if anyone would be seated with the 4 of us so we could place our bags and droids in the backseat. They said that was fine as we would not have anyone else in our car.

As I recall, the only cars with the plexiglass dividers were on the right-side in the front.

When we went in September, they were not seating different groups together. A week ago, they were.

I don't recall seeing the plexiglass in September although, admittedly, I wasn't looking for it. So it could have been there and I just missed it.

That would totally add up since we were left side in the back. Definitely makes sense because it would be annoying if you had a party of 6 and had to deal with a divider in your car!
