Sci-Fi: Do 4 people fit at one table?

All the pictures I've seen show 2 people in each car facing the same direction. We have two adults and two kids. The kids are very excited to sit in a car and I don't want to disappoint them!

I have to imagine this is not a unique situation since MANY people visit Disney with their kids :rotfl2:

We sat in a car that had three rows. 2 people sat in each row.

What they said! There are three rows (2 people per row) in each car. Since there are three different rows and only 2 will be needed for your party, be aware that sometimes parties of 2 are put in either the front or back row to fill up the car.

Sorry to barge into your question Virginiamom, but I wanted to ask a follow up question. Am I understanding this correctly... there will be 4 of us... so if I sit with DD and DH sits with another person... we won't actually be facing each other.. part of our party will have their backs to the other part of our party, is that right? Dh and I had planned on sharing our onion rings and fries so we could try both.. but I guess if we don't face each other we can't? That seems like such a strange seating arrangement?
Monica:)

I went there on my last trip and there were three of us. I sat in the back and had no problem sharing food with my family in front of me. The seating is a little weird though.

Yup, unless you get a picnic table (at the back of the drive-in).

The times we've eaten there we've been in a car and have put our two DS's in the "front" seat. I think we had people sitting behind us once, I'm not sure though.

Another follow-up question. How big of a party does each "car" accommodate? We have a party of 7 (4 adults, 3 kids). Will they separate our party? Can we get cars next to each other? How close are the ones next to each other?

Depending on the size of the 3 kids, they may be able to share a seat. We had two 12 year olds and a 9 year old who fit OK together (they wanted to sit together so they didn't mind being a little close together). Otherwise, there are cars very close to each other (like a foot apart). Basically, you can reach out and touch the person in the car next to you if you want!

Each car will officially seat 6 and with 7, I believe Disney Dining will be booking you into 2 cars. When I had a party of 8 and made my ADR's, they asked me how I wanted to split (2 & 6 or 4 & 4). We had 2 different meal where I'd said we'd split 2 & 6 - at one we actually were 2 & 6, but the other they sat us 4 & 4. Both times in cars right beside each other. The only time that it was a bit awkward was when we had a different server for each car even though they were side-by-side. We managed though...

It's exactly like sitting in a car at the drive in. So even though some members of each party will have their backs to each other, one could still put their arm over their seat and steal onion rings from one's husband. Not that I've ever done something like that. ;)
