Sci Fi Dining @ HS - Hot commodity?

Sci Fi is always a hot commodity. It has a cute theme, burgers and milk shakes perfect for a budget friendly family meal.
BD is more expensive and intimidates some being a Signature. Nothing to say about MM as we rarely eat Italian on vacation.

Keep trying. I didn't get a single restaurant we wanted or was interested in when the ADR window opened last month. This week, Sci-Fi opened up as well as others. Only need Oga's now. Keep trying. Mouse----Dining---- helps a lot and so does Tour-ing-plans.

I have been looking at the week after Thanksgiving for my arrival day + 6 and nothing, lunch or dinner has shown up. Even have Mouse Watcher looking for an opening and nothing.

I have tried multiple times this year to get a reservation and have yet to be successful. I hope you can get lucky and find a reservation if someone cancels.

I share your frustrations with Sci-Fi for our December trip. We went this summer and could not find any availability 60 days out. I signed up for notifications on Sci-Fi and a few other hard to get reservations and got all but Sci-Fi weeks before the trip. However, there were some that showed up the day before, due to people cancelling. Just me - I think Disney holds back a few reservation times for some restaurants and releases the times sporadically, but I do not get the impression that is the case with Sci-Fi. post-COVID. My advice is to sign up for notifications, but be prepared that it is unlikely anything is going to show-up until people cancel a day or two before - check constantly day before and day of and be ready to pounce.

SciFi is a hot commodity with parents who have young children. Check regularly for availability especially around the final payment date for rooms/packages, but also cancellation time period (not sure if SciFi requires a credit card) and on the day too using Disney Experience. Just be flexible with time available

I've had problems making Sci Fi reservations for 2, but changed the party to 3 people and BAM, got a ressie. Go figure. Likely has to do with the odd seating arrangements due to the cars.

Is 50’s PTC available? I would try it if you can. We find the food at Sci Fi so-so but love it there have dinner every trip.

ScFi offers walk up reservations (assuming they are available). But walk up reservations sit at a normal table, not in a car
Just went last week and there were no walk up reservations. I would just keep checking on the app. I was able to secure some of my ADRs the week before and get better reservation times while we were up there…standing in line for a ride.

Sci Fi is still seating only 1 party per car, which further limits capacity. And I agree about looking for 3 or 4 instead of 2. Several restaurants have really limited spots for parties of 2. We’re almost always 2 & I have to book for 4 to get decent restaurants or times. There’s no problem only having 2 at check in. Got to play the game…🙄

I guess it is possible. The Mouse Watcher checker I had for a lunch party of 5 did give me a notification for an opening on 11/29, but it was for 11AM, too early for us.

I have had Mouse Watcher, Mouse dining, and Touring Plans set up to search for Sci-Fi multiple days of my trip since the 60 day out mark, and have only been notified twice of an available reservation. I am going in two weeks for reference. I was luckily able to snag an early 10:45am lunch one of my days . I am hoping to secure a more normal lunch time closer to my trip.
