When are you going? We are going May. I tried a few "practice tries" for ADR's before my 60 day window and Sci Fi was not to be found. But on my 60 day out, I got everything I wanted for a party of 8, I almost thought it was a mistake. I can't figure out why it was so easy to get everything I wanted for a party of 8, Sci Fi had multiple times available. But I went back in to make a few adjustments and all times were gone for Sci Fi, Sanaa, Beaches and Cream and CRT. Somehow I lucked out!!

Same, maybe we are going a low attendance time? I was shocked at how easy it was to get ADR's this time.

Perhaps you would have more luck with lunch? We ate there for lunch (pre-covid) without a reservation since the place next door (can't recall the name) was closed for renovation and there weren't any other nearby restaurants in that area of the park that interested us. Only had to wait a few minutes to get seated at one of those regular tables along the back wall. Frankly wasn't a place we would eat again. Food was very average, the overall design seem old and in need of a refresh and those short movie clips won't mean much to anyone under the age of 50. Still not sure why this place seems so appealing to others.

Early May is always slow. Post Spring Break/Easter but before Memorial Day. Most kids are still not out of school, at most you might get cheer/dance groups. We were supposed to go the first week of May last year and it was similarly easy for ADRs at the old 180.

We always go in early May and have found the cheer groups to not be a problem. Barely see them, unlike the overseas school groups

They also tend to do quick service for food, so wouldn't affect the ADRs.

I know in the past early May has been slow, but with so many at home for work and school, I just wasn't sure this year. But.....looks like it's a typical, pre-covid early May crowd, so happy!!

From what I’ve heard, historically they tend to stay at the All Stars and Coronado. There is a thread in the Resorts forum talking about it

Got my May Sci-Fi lunch right at 6am today - however - I had to change from 2 to 5 before I could book a time....anything less than that and I received the ‘Sorry, no times available’ message.

Can anyone who has booked for more people then reduced their party (say to two) at check in confirm this isn’t an issue? We are also a party of two hoping to get Sci-Fi.

Yes - I’ve done it before - I do like to either call or go online to modify the number down to 2 prior to the date. That way, hopefully, I’m not keeping anyone else from snagging a reservation...

no reason to bother doing this right now and risking the cm will mess up the reservation.
Each party gets 1 car to themself so whether you have 1 person or 6 nobody else can make another reservation

Sad but True - we’ll probably over tip then to make up for taking a whole car just for us...
