Anyone know if you absolutely need reservations for this restaurant or if you can possibly just walk in?:confused3 I'm not sure what time we will want to go so thought we'd take our chances if you think it's possible.:confused3

I had lunch there several years ago and they were taking walk ins. They were not seated in cars though. There were tabels in the back of the restaurant that, I think, were like picnic tables

thanks...we would defintiely want to stay in a car...so maybe we need to reserve.

We travel in the off season and it has always been too busy for a walkin spot. This year we decided to reserve a time so we can finally try it out.

Sci Fi is one of our must do's for lunch each trip. Have been in all seasons & always heard them telling people no for a walk in.

My experience has been hit or miss. Sometime I get seated in a car right away, other times they tell us the wait is over an hour and we just go to Starring Rolls instead and eat cupcakes for lunch :woohoo:

My family and I went there during our last stay 8/2011. We thought it was great and they were accomodating walkups at that time.

:goofy:

If you know you definently want the Sci Fi.. get an ADR! I have always seen that place packed and walk-in waits are usually an hour. I know it can be hit or miss as others have said, but in my personal experience, it's best to book a time so you are guaranteed a seat!

Glad to hear that it is popular and that everyone enjoys it. We have an ADR for our next trip!

I read online that it can be a bit scary for some small children. Is it really that bad? Our kids are both usually fairly OK with that stuff (they've done Pirates of the Carribean and Haunted Mansion). Is it just dark and loud?

We took our 5yo and 18month old and they LOVED it! The "scary" (more like weird) clips are mixed in with lots of other things, like commercials and "infomercials", so the stuff that you might worry about is pretty limited. We loved it!

You can always try. We had an 11:30 ADR at Sci Fi back in September, which is low crowd season, and they were not taking walk-ins then. Since there are not a ton of great table service options at DHS, it makes Sci Fi one of the more popular ones. Make an ADR if you can.

We went in October, got there 5 minutes before opening (but the hostess was already out) and we were seated almost as soon as the restaurant opened with no reservation. We had a party of 6, so that was surprising (and pleasing). It can't hurt to have an ADR though, if you know in advance you want to eat there. My husband wanted to try it, so it was just luck that we were there at the right time.

I walked in. Wish I hadn't. Horrible food. Some of the old sci-fi clips with women occasionally blasting out blood-curdling screams is hardly good dinner entertainment.

Basically, I thought it sucked. Would never go back or recommend the place.

We did a walk-in for two over Columbus Day weekend. It was around 2:30 p.m. and they told us it'd be about a 20 minute wait but it was really about 5 minutes. Another party of two right in front of us in line got in as a walk-in. It was pretty crowded in there but I think maybe we had luck being a smaller party (they put us as the hitchikers in a car with a family of 4 in the first two rows).

I would try to reserve, though I have seen them take walk-ins.

We thought the food was good - basic burger and fries, but good. Of course everyone has varying opinions and experiences regarding food quality. The B movies, however, are the same every time and something you obviously know about going in. If you don't like them, why would you eat there? :confused3

We were at Disney in October 2011. Decided one morning we wanted to eat there and called from our room and got a reservation for that day and we got a car!!:cool1:

Have eaten there 3 times. All in September so not peak season and all 3 times just a walk up and always got a car.

Do like the atmosphere , though i see why it might not appeal to all. Food was ok to good and really liked the light-up ice cubes you can get in your sodas :)
