Sci fi diner?

I agree that this is a love/hate place. It is a must on every trip for us! The kids just love it and the food has always been good to us, especially the onion rings and milk shakes

Our family really enjoys it. Just so you know, it is sort of dark inside (like a drive in should be). The cheesie movies playing arent meant to scare anyone but they do have an assortment of B-movie style "monsters". The food is ok. The peanut butter-chocolate cake a la mode is awesome. The kids can get glowing ice cubes that I thought were really cool. I think you have to ask for them.

We ate lunch there for the 1st time this past Sept & really enjoyed it. The theming is really neat - our 4 yr old loved watching the old movie clips. We had great sandwiches and excellent service - we are planning on going back this Sept.

Like the others said, great atmosphere. It's worth it to call ahead and reserve a car for an authentic 50s feel. I was in a party of two and we had to share the car with two other strangers, which was a bit awkward... but I think you and your son will love it.

My husband and I ate at SciFi in Sept and the food was good. We split the ribs and spinach dip and the portions were plenty for 2. The atmosphere is fun BUT the biggest drawback is that it was FREEZING in there! All the waitstaff had on sweaters and since it was 95degrees outside we were in shorts and froze. If you go take a jacket or sweater because it is so cold it spoiled the meal!

Really? Great atmosphere? Hmmmm....well we all have our own opinions.
We didn't enjoy it and will not be going back. Yes, the shakes are good but that's it. Didn't enjoy the loud movies and not being able to see the food on my plate.
Like others have said, you either love it or hate it.

It definitely has a fun atmosphere. This year we are trying dinner instead of lunch. The food for lunch was average. It wasn't wohoo great! It wasn't yuck bad! I would definitely try it if you have never been, have fun!

It's a restaurant we want to visit every time! It's fun and so different than any other place to eat. We love it.

The food is good. Not great, but good. We just had dessert last time and have decided that we'll probably just do that from now on. Their Marsha's Martian milkshake is my fav.

We loved it. Food was good, atmosphere wonderful and the chef made our week. We will go back for sure. I had a chicken sandwich that was good, most of our party had burgers and they all said they were good. My son has an anaphylactic dairy allergy and the chef was friendly, helpful and even made him a dairy free shake! Now that is something that is NEVER available anywhere else. When he brought the shake he brought it in a special mug to take home with a glowing ice cube plus he brought ice cubes for the other two boys with us. We met a lot of chefs that week but the SciFi chef really stood out and made us feel like he was happy to cook up a special meal. We were there with friends who go most trips and it is on our list of must do's for next time.

You have to try it at least once. My son brought it up today when we were talking about an upcoming trip to make sure it is on the sched to do. Food is good, atmosphere and theming you only get at Disney, great!

My 3 year old wasn't too excited about it. Some of the clips she was scared a little bit by, and she doesn't get scared easily. There was screaming etc in the clips. Some clips were funny though too. It didn't bother her too much. She did watch the TV quietly most of the meal. My parents enjoyed this place more than anybody, brought back memories, I guess! I don't think we'd go again, at least not for awhile.
