Sci-Fi Dine In--Sandwiches

I was just wondering if anyone has tried the sandwiches at the sci-fi dine in? Not the burgers or the ribs, i'm only interested in hearing about the SANDWICHES.

IIRC I had the grilled chicken breast sandwich there when we ate lunch last August. The fact that I can't clearly remember indicates that it was neither the best, nor the worst thing I have ever eaten. I do recall being so incredibly full from the app. of onion rings and spinich dip that DH and myself had and shared, that I could only eat 1/2 of the sandwich....but as far as how it really tasted, I can't say with certainty. OTOH, the atmosphere was unforgettable, sci-fi is the only sit down restuarant we ate at last summer that has made our list for this coming trip - all LOVED it.

DH loved the reuben on our last trip. I always have burgers (except once when I had ribs).

I've had the reuben and the chicken sandwich before and did not care for either but they were edible. Last time I tried the smoked turkey sandwich and could not eat it. I am not a picky eater at all but I could not eat that sandwich as the bread was so stale I think it was baked during WWII. And I had the side salad option rather than fries and the salad was probably worse than the sandwich.

I love the Sci Fi so I hate bashing it but the food is really not good here.

This is really difficult, because some people say that the food is disgusting and some other people say that the food was amazing...but thanks everyone for your responses.

Hmm I am interested as well. Dh and I are dining there in June and I may want to stay away from a burger.

We eat at Sci Fi every trip (DS loves the whole atmosphere). DD often gets the Rueben and says it's fine - not fantastic, but fine. Sometimes I get the artichoke dip and onion rings for my meal. It's tasty!

And the shakes are good, too.

We ate there last month and 3 of us had reubens. They were really good! Nice and thick. Be sure to have a milkshake with it!

DH & I ate there in December and I had the chicken sandwich & he had the rueben and both were great. Had the onion rings too & loved them. The atmosphere was great & we had a great waitress too, so that made the experience even better.

Had the club sandwich there many yrs ago - could only eat a 1/4 of it as it was HUGE. Not even sure if it's still on the menu. DD and friend at there last week and liked it.

Here is a pic of the turkey sandwich and salad I had in January at Sci-Fi:

The turkey was like cheap lunchmeat, only covered about half of the sandwich, and the bread was terrible. That salad was watermelon, red onion and something else. And no the color is not off, the watermelon wasn't even ripe.

I was even disappointed in the onion rings this time. The appetizer came with 4 fairly small onion rings with no dipping sauces or salsa or anything. The time before, if I remember, we got a fairly large serving of rings.

Everyone else in our group except for me got burgers and they were still happy with those (as they had been on prior trips). It was just this sandwich that was not good. And it could have been just an "off" day here.

I still love Sci-Fi and will go again but I will not order this sandwich. I'm not much of a beef eater but I'm sticking with burgers from now on.
