Hi,

DH and I were interested in having dinner at the Sci-Fi Dine In, this will be our first time trying this restuarant. From the pictures, the place looks so fun! But I have a question, it'll just be DH and I, and I see from some photos that it's a car w/ front and back seats...will we be sharing a "car" with others? Just curious. THANKS!!!:teeth: :teeth:

Most likely, yes. I highly suggest you do the Sci Fi for lunch as it is a way better deal than dinner. It's not a favorite of mine, but the atmosphere is cool and should definitey be experienced!

Bret Michaels as in Poison Bret Michaels? Love him!!!!

Thanks for the info for Sci-Fi too!!! :teeth: :teeth:

You do share car's with other people and may be placed in the front, middle or rear of the car.

Although it's a cute place to dine, I was very disappointed in the food on my last trip. I found it to be just so-so, especially for the price you pay for it. I really enjoy the 50's. The food & service are great.

Our family of four ate lunch there this spring. We had a lot of fun with the place. We enjoyed our lunch.

We had two hitch hikers along in the back of the car. The CM told us we would be picking two hitch hikers up- we didn't get it. They were right behind my DH and myself and we didn't even know that they had climbed on in!

When the CM's took our photo they made sure that you couldn't see the hitch hikers. Now, when my husband went to take a photo (before a CM could get to us) you can see the two guys looking very bewildered :)

We didn't notice them and I don't think they noticed us. You will have fun.

You will share your car with someone else, but you sit in a seat for two. I think it's cozy for two. We are a family of 4 and even though we have an extra 2 people in our car it doesn't bother us at all. We never know they are there. There restaurant is loud due to Sci Fi clips. It's dark in there, so again it helps you not notice others.

Personally, I prefer lunch. Last year I had a fabulous steak sandwich. It was the best meal I have ever had there. Occasionally the food is mediocre but most times it is ok. We go back year after year though because the kids love it and the atmosphere is awesome.

Thanks for all the info!!! We had lunch and dinner at 50's Prime Time and we had a blast, that's why I figured we'd give Sci-Fi a try. THANKS AGAIN!

Just to let you know about the car sharing, Last time we went was at about 11 am. there was a family of 4 in one car. That was it. No one else. They put us in that same car. They said they could not move us as there were not any staff for the other cars yet. We still had a good time, it was just odd sharing just one car with every single car empty.

We have eaten there twice. Once it was very busy (lunch) and we shared a car. We were the latecomers and in the back seat of the car.

About a month ago it was not that busy. Maybe half full. They still had guests waiting out front and we were put in the back of a car. (dinner)

The only thing I can say against it is the table space is not very deep or plentiful. Enough to barely hold a plate and a glass.

The first time I wish DH had said something DURING the meal. Afterwards he was said the gal in front of him had long hair that was darn near dragging in his meal. :scared: :faint: (The gal did not know it. I told DH he should have said something to her even. )

Had this happen again we were going to be asked to move. It was disgusting and he should have said something.

This is just a mention to anyone being seated in a Sci Fi back car seat behind someone with long hair.

Next time I would like in the front of the car or maybe pass.

We've "lunched" at Sci-Fi Cafe many, many times because the kids love it, it has such a nifty execution of its theme, and we have always adored the food. But I agree that it's strictly a lunch choice.

This time around - in just a few days - we're finally going to try Prime Time. My son is bummed, but he'll recover!

I made the ressies today and my CM was soooo excited that we were finally visiting Prime Time. He told me NOT to tell the kids what to expect and just let them be all surprised that the adults in the restaurant get treated like kids.

Whatever you do, have fun!
