sci fi dine in: impossible-to-get ADRs?

a friend of mine was just telling me about her trip planning (i recommended her the dis!) and she was telling me about her problems with getting ADRs. she called exactly 90 days ahead of time, and called at 7 am when the lines opened. what happened was that she got through (after half an hour on hold) and managed to get most of her ADRs when she got disconnected. she called back and there was no record of the ADRs she had just made, so they had to start over. by this time it was not yet 8 am but she was told that sci fi dine in was already completely booked and she couldn't get in! that means it was completely booked solid in less than an hour!

has this ever happened to anyone else? i've never been to sci fi but i really want to, but now i am adraid i'll never be able to get in.

I've read quite a few posts elsewhere that everyone is having trouble getting Sci-Fi reservations in June. Don't know what the issue is. I suggested maybe it's the new Le Cellier!

Honestly the atmosphere is really cool but the food is just the worst!!!! You are not missing much! I actually got downright ill after eating there never again for me!

I had NO problem getting a lunch reservation for Sci Fi today, for a June trip.

I asked about Sci-Fi on Sunday when I made my reservations. They had openings but not at a time that I wanted on the day that I wanted. Basically I told the CM that I wanted either Sci-Fi or 50s Prime Time at 11:00 AM on the said day at the end of June. On that day should was able to give me 50s at 11:00 AM but Sci-Fi would not have been available until 12:40 PM. Because of our schedule I choose 50s Prime Time. For me it was an either/or situation. I didn't care which restaurant we got into.

I called this morning at 7 and couldn't get Sci Fi dinner reservations for my trip in June. I had to take an early lunch reservation.

Honestly the atmosphere is really cool but the food is just the worst!!!! You are not missing much! I actually got downright ill after eating there never again for me!

We will not ge eating there again any time soon, as my DH also got ill after eating there. He was feeling bad for about 3 days after as well.

Huh, we had a fantastic experience there, including the food. It was really good! But I'm surprised people are having such a hard time getting in! It is cool though!

We managed to get a 3:30 late lunch ADR for the date we wanted in June.

We call back two times about Sci-fi and we where still only given a choose of 50s, mama melrose and Hollywood and Vine, We took 50's for 11:50 was all that was avalible. We will try to give another call closer to when we leave.

I made all my ADR's today and had no problems getting Sci-Fi for lunch - 12:05 on 6/30. I'm not thrilled with the food but my husband really likes eating at SCI FI - the girls like eating in the cars!

Others have said that they have had trouble getting into Sci-Fi on other posts. Some have said that the Star Wars weekends could cause a big draw for Sci-Fi, or it may just be getting extremely popular. Whatever the case, I hope it opens up by August when we go, we love Sci-Fi!

I had no problem getting a lunch ADR for June. I really think the problem is a whole park dining dilemma. That park has the worst counter service on property as a whole. And the dining options for TS are limited....Hollywood and Vine gets terrible reviews, Brown Derby is too expensive (for many) and that pretty much leaves Sci Fi and 50's. They need to open some better CS options!!! Also, I have only been to 50's once but it seemed small to me...they just can't seat enough people in there to make up for the capacity of the park. But, from what I have heard, you aren't missing much at Sci Fi...but my DH just HAD to eat here!!

I just got off the phone (again) trying to make ADRs for Sci Fi (I think my kids would love it). NOTHING for the week we are there (June 143-20). The CM mentioned that the new American Idol experience lets out in front of the Sci Fi. Perhaps that has something to do with it?

I am going to try one more time and see if we can get in. Otherwise, we'll just take them to Rainforest Cafe - they'd like that too.

I called right at my 90 day mark and was able to get a 12:25pm lunch reservation on a Saturday of a Star Wars weekend. Hope you're able to get yours too!

I just tried for the third time to get lunch reservations at Sci-Fi for the week of June 20-27. Nothing was available! Hard to believe that it is so popular all of a sudden!
