Sci Fi closed 9/6 - 9/13

Bummer if this is right. I just called WDW Dining trying to change my Sci Fi dinner ADR on 9/6 to lunch. I was told that Sci Fi is CLOSED for maintenance 9/6 - 9/13 and guests who have ADRs will be contacted. Hmm.

THANK HEAVENS FOR THE DIS BOARDS!!!! I read this and immediately called as I had ADR for Sci Fi on 9/8. I was able to switch my reservations to 9/5 but could only get 5:20 (not too bad). My DH is always saying "what else could you possibly learn from reading those boards??"; well now, thanks to you all, we get to experience the Sci Fi AND won't be left with nowhere to eat on the 8th!!!!!!!!

I haven't been contacted (at least not yet) and we have PS for the 6th?? I really wanted to try it out!!

They said it was for "maintenance".

undertheseas, they said the restaurant itself would be contacting people that have ARs during that timeframe. I haven't been contacted either. I did make AR for 50s Primetime for that day because I'm thinking when they start calling people that one is going to fill up fast. You should call.

After reading this post...first I freaked out...then I called Disney. We have a lunch ADR for 9/13. They told me that I should be O.K. on the 13th, that it should be open by then. However, they made sure to add that if the maintenance ran long they would let me know.... This was my choice for dining during our stay and I will be sooo disappointed. My husbands theory...just make the ADR on another day. He doesn't get it that I have my days planned (and have for the last few months) Oh well...

We had AR's for the 9th and I haven't heard anything yet either. I wonder when they were planning to let us know-when it was too late to make ARs for something else?

I called for the 23rd on Friday and was told they were closed for dinner due to rehab, but I could make ADR for lunch up to 4pm.

We had ADR's for Sci-Fi on Sept. 13 and changed to Prime Time for lunch. The CM didn't say anything about Sci-Fi possibly being open on the 13th. I was too nervous about not getting anything to wait and see. My husband is not the type that likes the attention that has been described about eating at Prime Time, so it never appealed to us. I hope we enjoy it as much as we liked Sci-Fi.

I called last night to make a new ADR for Sci-fi on 9/9, the only message the CM got on her computer was they weren't taking any more lunch rez's. It makes sense that if they needed to do a rehab they would do it during the slow time.

Why would they take ressies if you can't eat there. I would be so upset if I got there and couldn't get in.

I thought I was done calling WDW, guess one more call is required

Oh, man! My ressie is for 9/12. It is the only day we'll be at MGM. With our other ressie's and plans I don't see how we can change the day. I guess we'll save this one until our next trip. I was looking forward to trying it.

Disneymomtofour, We have eaten at Prime Time and as long as you husband eats his veggies, he shouldn't get in too much trouble from Mom!!

Okay so how long is this going to be???? 9/6 to 9/13 and then they told you the 23rd too??? I'm confused, should I call about my adr for 4:15??????

Anyone received a call on this yet? We are affected and haven't decided where to eat instead as we are majorly bummed.

They haven't call me yet and when I called to verify my ressies they said it was OK until I made them double check the Sci-Fi was open and then the CM realized it was closed. I'm really bummed out, we don't have another day we can try it so I guess I'll go with the Biergarten in Epcot.
