We would like to eat at Sci-Fi on Sat. Feb. 14, but also want to see Fantasmic. Would you just go ahead and get the package at another restaurant so we won't have to wait in line? I guess what I'm trying to weigh is the fun of Sci-Fi versus having to wait in line. Never been to either so I don't know what to do.

When we went to WDW a few years ago in late January, we found that the preferred seating for Fantasmic! was totally unnecessary. We showed up 30 minutes early for the show.

I guess Feb 14 would be a little more towards the "peak" season though. What about Sci-Fi for lunch, then a package dinner?

We went to Sci-Fi last year at 5:00 thinking that we would get out in plenty of time for Fantasmic. They are very slow to seat us there and it seemed like it took forever to get our food.
Needless to say we missed Fantasmic, so we had to come back to this park on another night so that we could see Fantasmic.

Fantasmic is a show to not miss. It is WONDERFUL.

If I had to do it all over again. I would have skipped Sci-Fi. Grabbed a quicky bite at one of the counter service places right outside of Fantasmic and taken the food in with us while we waited for Fantasmic.

Hope this helps.

I have to agree with that. Last time, at Sci-Fi despite the fact we had priority seating reservations it was still a 40-50 minute wait. If it weren't for the fact one of our party REALLY wanted to go there, we would have left.

we are doing this in a few weeks...sci fi for late lunch at 3:55 ( last lunch seating) then fantasmic...we wanted to try it and have heard not good things about some of their more elaborate meals so this way we can get burgers(lunch menu) and hopefully even if it takes 2 hrs have time to get to fantasmic...hope it works!

Yep - we're doing the same thing as jann1033. We have a 3:00 lunch PS at Sci-Fi, then maybe do a few things prior to queing up for Fantasmic. I love this show! Last trip, I planned it late in our week, and it was rained out. We didn't get to see it. So this trip, it is scheduled for our first full day at WDW!!!

We were at Sci-Fi on the 21st for lunch. We had a PS for 12:20, we checked in at 12, and were in at exactly 12:20. In my opinion, MGM was crowded that day, the line of people trying to get into Sci-Fi was crazy, they were telling people without PS times to come back that were more than two hours away.

Everything we ordered was tasty, but it was a very heavy meal. We didn't eat again until nearly 10 o'clock that night, when we grabbed something very light from the Family Fun and Food Center at the CR. The novelty of Sci-Fi was a lot of fun, my DS11 especially enjoyed it, and our whole dining experience lasted just a little over an hour. They were very prompt with our order.
