Schoooool's OUT for the summer!!!

DD doesn't get out until June 16 and I think I am wanting to be over with more then she is. She has been studying notes, for the SOL's.

My DD goes until June 17 (rest of the system has class until June 21st) and we have SOLs as well...

And way way too much going on. Several school projects, three field trips, poetry day, sports day, etc. Can't wait for it to end so we can regain some sanity.

DS8 finishes on his birthday - June 22. He doesn't go back until after Labor Day.

You're probably younger than I am, so you may not know the song the kids used to sing back when I was a kid:

Back then, we could get away with singing such violence, but no way today. The kids would be arrested for terrorist threats!

First day back Sept 2nd

Mine are out as of today. I have mixed emotions about this lol. I have 5 kids and it's nice to only have 2 home during the day! But, it's also nice to not have to worry about homework and getting up early!

I have 3 more days. We have to work on Saturday due to snow days. I feel like a chicken running around with its head cut off. Come Saturday afternoon I may be too tired to celebrate making it through this year.

We have to make up snow days so our last day is June 21st. We start up after Labor Day.

This is the first year in a long time that we aren't extended for snow days. It wasn't too bad in Pennsylvania. I don't think we had 1 snow that was 18 inches. Only had maybe 1 that was 12 inches. That might have been the only cancellation due to snow. All the others were from cold temps and they were all made up during the Easter break (only Good Friday off for Easter when they should have had the entire week after off.)

Oh, and Friday is their last day. Last year they went an extra week.

OP here. . .I keep getting sucked back into school!! (I'm DONE. . .wait, no. . .a bit more. . .DONE! No, not yet. . .)
Postplanning was over last Wednesday, but then my grade level met and worked yesterday and today on things for next year, then Monday afternoon through Wednesday night I'll be gone to our state's reading and writing conference that's 5 hours away. At least I have days off in between!!

(And as of next Wednesday, I WILL be DONE until mid-August!!)
