This evening I decided to settle down and start the first draft itinerary for our trip next July. I start, as usual, by listing the dates: Thursday, 1 July; Friday, 2 July; Saturday, 3 July; Sunday, 4 July; Monday, 5...

REWIND! SUNDAY, 4 JULY?! WHAT WERE WE THINKING?!

Too late now - we've booked the flights!

So, guys, I need your help. I've already sussed that we need to avoid MK - EE and 4 July - but what will the other parks be like? Do we need to avoid the parks altogether that weekend? What other options are there?

We were on honeymoon at Disney for July 4th a couple of years ago Deb and spent the evening at MGM. The park was open until midnight I think, with 3 lots of Fantasmic, and a special showing of the Sorcery in the Sky fireworks that only now run on the big holidays at about 11.45pm.

It was pretty manic earlier in the day, but after the 2nd Fantasmic it got more easy going and everyone had a great time. We were staying at the Boardwalk and were able to walk back to the room after, so that was a major bonus :D

People we met the next day said that MK and Epcot were heaving, but you might find MGM is a good alternative for the 4th itself. As for the rest of the week, it was fairly busy, but not as bad as we had expected - Fastpass meant we could still do most of the main rides and the parks were also open quite late during the trip I think.

I am sure it will be OK Deb....I can't help with suggestions I'm afraid.
