We are heading down to Orlando next week for OUR school vacation week of 4/19-4/26. Wondering if all states are the same or not???

We are in NYC and we have off the same week . I don't know where you are but I know that Disney is VERY BOOKED that week also . Our friends are booked in WDW and are kind of nervous about the crowds .

i always check the calendar on the UO website to check the hours for the parks.

if they are opened late, i expect crowds.

if they close early, just the opposite.

In Maryland, at least Carroll County, we don't have one single day off in April. The kids had a 1/2 day today and that is it! It is going to be a very long month! I work for the system and our next day off, for kids too, is Memorial Day on May 26th!!

Some schools in NJ are also off that week. We are leaving for RPH on the
19th. Can't wait. I wish the parks were open later though!

That's the best plan! :thumbsup2

Many schools in New Hampshire are on vacation that week. That's why we're going then - the t-cha needs a break!

well Universal is not planning to stay open any later apparently, the majority of the country has already had their spring break which is why we were closing at 10 pm about 2 weeks ago, although you guys are in for the good stuff, since the parks will be slow and ya'll get to ride everything! feel bad for the people who came two weeks ago, can you say 35 minute wait at the Caro-Seuss-el and a hour wait at one fish two fish? muhahahaha

Yup...I've seen that all too often.

What about this coming week?
We made last minute plans to go to US this week. I didn't do any research on it at all. But, as you can see from my tags, I'm an "expert" lol
I'm pretty sure Lee county in SW FL is about the only county in FL who has not yet had our spring break.
I'm sooooooo looking forward to it!!!

I'm thinking it's not going to be too terribly busy since the parks close at regular hours. Orange and Seminole counties have already had their breaks this year.

Most schools down here in GA had spring break during the last 2 weeks. Ours was last week. We've been the last week in April and it wasn't bad at all. I think you'll have a good trip!

Our break was this week (sadly tomorrow is the last day)! BUT we leave for Orlando on our band trip April 17-20 and the Grad Bash/Nite in Orlando the 24th-27th! I redid my bed/bathroom this week since I will be in Orlando for the next 2!

You'd be surprised. I'm still seeing 30-45 min waits at many attractions.

We just got back last night. The crowds were high this past week, and the parks closed at 7 p.m., so that theory didn't really apply. The most frustrating part was waiting in line for food. We would get the food and put it on our trays, and then have to wait forever before getting to the cash register. Our choice was to go ahead and eat it while we were in line (which alot of people did) or eat cold food after we sat down. They were extremely understaffed at both parks. We would wait in line for ice cream or Dippin' Dots, only to find that they were out of most flavors, out of waffle cones, out of hot fudge, etc. My husband asked one of the cashiers what was up. She said, "Everyone thought spring break would be over by now." It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that April 5-12 is not the end of spring break. I don't know what the problem was, but it was bad enough that we probably would not return to US/IOA. I honestly hope that your week has much lighter crowds. It seems that most breaks would be over by then. Good luck.

Seems like you didn't enjoy yourself. It's unfortunate you are thinking about not returning to US.

That's how I feel EVERYTIME I go to Disney. Talk about crowds ?

Any vacation is fun, and US/IOA are beautiful parks. We definitely had a fun week in Orlando, but just feel like we can check US/IOA off our list, as we have checked WDW off our list. Every season of life is different, and our boys are at the age where we can explore other vacations also.
