School supplies Thread

Does anyone know if Walmart will honor the Walgreens .39 coupon for the Bic highlighters? Can I print from their website and use at Walmart?

Nope. I just tried to do this today and it didn't work. The Wal-Mart cashier said that she would price match anything in the Walgreens ad (like the Expo 4pk markers for $1.99) but she couldn't take the Walgreen's coupons for the Bic highlighters. My local Walgreens is sold out of the highlighters, but they are getting a new shipment tomorrow. So, if you missed out on Sunday, try again tomorrow.

I was at Walgreens today and they were out of the bic highlighters for .39 but they asked me if I wanted a raincheck for them. I got the raincheck for the highlighter and another ad for the next trip.

Same thing happened to me today with the Bic highlighters. Interesting that it's missing from several areas.

I stocked up on supplies this morning at Walgreens at got
3 pks highlighters(5 pk) .39 each
3 single highlighters .05 each
3 pks crayons 3/1.00
3 scotch tapes 3/100
2 large size glue sticks .99each
5 white poster board .10 each
4 mini composition tablets .05 each
2 30 pk plastic notebook sleeves 2/2.99

They were out of the 5 pack mechanical pencils but will got back later in the week.

I also got alot of the same above things and just told them it was another order to ring separate no problem.

I stock up so I can donate to our school for the Back Pack Program or give as part of our Church Christmas Box Program.

I had already stocked up at Wal mart last week on the glue sticks and theme books.

Week before at our Staples on folders, plastic binders, hand sanitizers and pencils.

Love those sales:yay:

Anyone else have luck with pricematching the filler paper at Walmart?

Our Walgreen's didn't have the book covers yet so they gave me a raincheck and they were also substituting the Bic Highlighters with something else.

woohoo I got lucky and found the .05 notebooks at Wal-Mart today!! I even got lucky enough to get all 96 at one time!! ( My son's school has alot of problems with not having enough school supplies so I am more than happy to donate 72 of those to his school!!---Every child deserves the same chance at a wonderful and happy education no matter what their circumstances may be!)
I am going to have to hit Kmart this week for the glue sticks and Walgreens for all their goodies!!

Anyone know if there is or may be a sale on these? We need black and colors. Also, the "large" glue sticks--any sales? I don't know why they require these instead of just letting the students use the smaller, more economical ones:confused3 .

I don't care what the list says. I buy the small glue sticks..I am paying for it, not the school!! I did this last year and had no problem.

I need to buy a bunch more Fiskar's scissors, any one see them cheap?

The Big Lots add has them advertised, but when I went to get them they had a retraction on the door that the scissors they had were not fiskar's. I bought one and was not impressed!

I saw them at Walmart, but they were still fairly pricey.

Walmart does price matching! Take the Big Lots ad that says FISKARS to Walmart and you should be able to get them for the sales price.

See the quote above. It seems Walgreens has the large size glue sticks for .99

Also, what is a "Sanford Magic Rub eraser"? This is on my DDs school supply list. Are these the white erasers or the pink ones?

thanks for the tips. I went to 3 walgreens today and my supertarget. I think they both had great deals on what I needed for the kids.. :thumbsup2 I was sending some moms over to walgreens when they were asking about certain items at target that I knew walgreens had for cheeper...

I couldnt find the Bic Highlighters either at any of the Walgreens.

Today I managed to score (2 trips).....
8 mini comp books $0.05 each
2 rulers $0.19 each
6 Mechanical Pencils $0.05 each
6 BIC Highlighters $0.39 each - YES I ACTUALLY FOUND THE BIC ONES and the store had a bunch!
6 single highlighters $0.05 each
1 package of crayola markers - skinny ones I think 20 or 24 pack $2.00 - rebate item so free after MIR
1 package of G2 Pilot pens - $1.00 - rebate item so free after MIR
2 packages of big pink erasers 2 pack - $0.19 each

And I paid with an old GC I got for transferring my prescriptions awhile ago so it all cost me nothing and I'll get the rebate

I also scored at Staples
6 packages of cap erasers $0.05 each
6 packages of the gel pens $0.99 each (I like these pens!)
2 protracters $0.05 each (don't need but the kids use them for drawing)
1 package Zebra Cadoozles Pencils $1.99 - rebate item so free after MIR

My kids are in 1st & 2nd grade and I buy what is on their school lists that get sent home at the end of the prior year and also a computer paper box full of stuff for the teacher to use as she wants in her classroom - stickers, pens, pencils, markers, crayons, scissors, basically any GREAT deals I can come across before school starts. I also put away 60 boxes of crayons and pencils for Christmas and send those in around the holiday concert so everyone starts off the new year with new basic supplies. Last year I ended up getting 20 dry erase boards (lap size) WITH a 4 pack of markers attached for nothing using the ECB system at CVS and donated them to my daughters K class as it was only the teachers 2nd year teaching and I figured this would help build her re-usable supplies up.
