My favorite money-saving site just posted an awesome chart all about school supplies today, and it gets updated as the weeks progress. It's got what things went for last year, what the lowest price has been this season, etc.

All I know is that this year I'm NOT waiting until August. Did that last year and I swear I was searching for dry-erase markers everywhere. Ugh.

Okay, here's the link to the chart.
(Hope it works, I don't have too much Disboards street cred yet...)

Thanks for sharing! I noticed that Target put out their school supplies last week so I picked up some of the cheap things. I'm holding out for the pricier items to go on sale.

thanks for the chart!

Since you belong to that site you might want to ask them to update the doc with split screens freezing the side and header row so you can see what stores and what items they are talking about as you scroll around. That would make it just about perfect! LOL

Thanks! I was able to pick up some crayons and some glue sticks saturday at walmart. couldn't believe the school supplies were out already!

Awesome. Thanks! I printed off copies to give away at the pool to the moms here.

Our district in Lexington, SC is getting IPads for all the middle school students. While it is great, we still have no school supply list and school starts in about 4 weeks. Last year all the stores were empty by the time classes started so that makes me nervous. We were told that they are still evaluating what students will really need if most of their books are on the IPad and they will be able to do write ups and submit homework via the internet, but it is frustrating because we don't want a list two days before school starts and then no supplies at stores. Anyone else's school use IPads and what did they do for supplies???

Thanks :confused3
