School sports

in my school, the eight graders (our school is 6-8) get privilige over the younger people even if they might not be as good, i play softball and im kind of a new cheerleader, never made the squad before but were working on it, all of my friends who are cheerleaders have told me that i will definately at least make b because im in 8th grade, do you guys think thats fair? i kind of want to be put on a team because im good, not because im old, but either way i want to be on the team??? should they give preference to age?????

i dont think it should make a difference but it all depends on your school....my school(9-12) has 3 teams bcuz its a hight school n scince i'm a freshman i will usually be put on freshman for feild hockey i'm on freshman n for softball i'll have to wait n c

Usually at my school freshmen are put on a freshman team, sophomores on JV and juniors and seniors on Varsity, but I don't think age shouldn't make a difference....it should be based on how hard you work, your determination to be better and your level of skill. Like on my basketball team there's 3 freshmen who are so awesome and they get more playing time than a some of us because they're so incredibly talented. I mean, we all bust our butts and work hard, but in the end it all comes down to which team wins.
