DS got his friday and school starts on the 23rd.
DD got hers friday as well, but it was an incomplete schedule. And here's my complaint about that.
We go in, go to the desk give them her name. They hand her a copy of the schedule and the paperwork we need to fill out. She keeps the schedule, just telling us who she got for her main classes. We proceed thru registration. She gets her books and stash them in her locker. As we are walking out, she sees one of her friends. She hands me her schedule and takes off. This is the frist time I actually looked at the thing.
It's missing one whole class. We go and find the princpal and point out that her last class for the 1st semester is not on there. He looks at and tells us that would be because her 1st selection of an elective was full. They would need to pull her elective sheet out and see where they could place her and correct her schedule.
Now to me, this is completely butt backwards. There should be a edit written into the program, that if a student has an incomplete schedule, it should be flagged and addressed BEFORE HANDED TO THE STUDENT. It shouldn't be up to the family to catch and notify the school. By not having an internal edit, it is just one more "job" that the parents have to do for the schools.
Depending on what elective she has as a 2nd choice, it could move her schedule all around. And she really likes it the way it is - class flow - and she has teachers she really wants to be with.
