A little in the past...

Will: "Hey, Brendan. Could I sit here?"

MJ: "Sure!" She sat down next to Henri.

NOW

MJ: She listened to the teacher.

Will: He turned toward the teacher.

Brendan: he nodded at Will.

Henriette: Henri sat and listened to the teacher.

Ms. Odie: "See what I mean? You don't need to have the ability to use magic to be able to identify it and to understand the theories that magic presents. And just a simple understanding can mean so much when you're in a tough situation. But that's enough from me. I've always thought that the teacher shouldn't be the one asking lots of questions in the classroom. After all, it's the students who need to learn! So now, you can ask me whatever questions about magic, this class, me or any other questions that you may have and I'll try to answer them as best I can."

Art: "How many theories of magic are there?"

Delphin: "Is there any way that non-magic users can use magic? Like with potions or something?"

Delphin: "Is there any way that non-magic users can use magic? Like with potions or something?"

Ms. Odie: "It depends. Yes, there are spells and potions that can either be drunk directly or mixed in with food or beverages. It's more complicated though, and this is your first theory: Every living creature has an aura, which kind of looks like a glow, or if they had a halo surrounding them. Plants, animals, and humans have green auras. "Mythical" creatures such as mermaids and dragons have purple auras. Gods, goddesses, spirits, and anyone descended by either of those have golden auras. Magical creatures such as fairies have blue auras. Now sometimes a person with a green or purple aura can be magical or be descended by a magical person, both apply to me, or once in a while, a person will randomly have a strong magical presence. Their auras have a secondary color in it, ranging from teal, a bluish green, to turquoise or aquamarine, a mix of blue and green, to blue. If it's blue, they're magical. Anything outside of that means they have the potential to be magical but aren't. Those spells and potions truly only increase the amount of magic in someone's aura. So, it would only really work if the person already had magic in their aura."

OOC: That confused me....

Catherine:
She took notes. There was a lot of infomation to take in, but it was exciting.

OOC: I think I got SOD votes from almost everybody so I might post the results either today or tomorrow.

Ms. Odie: "However, the only people who can see auras are the ones who have been trained to see them. Learning the ability to see auras is one thing you will all be taught this year. Can anyone give me a reason why being able to see auras would be an advantage?"

Nat: Her hand shot in the air.

Ms. Odie: "Yes, Miss Possible?"

Nat: "If you're in a fight or bad situation and you can see your opponent's aura then you know at least a little about what you're up against."

Ms. Odie: "Excellent Miss Possible! Miss Possible is correct, being able to see auras would be an advantage in a confrontation. But enough about auras! Does any one else have questions?"

Art: He raised his hand. "How many different types of magic are there? Besides voodoo and potions, I mean."

Art: He raised his hand. "How many different types of magic are there? Besides voodoo and potions, I mean."

Ms. Odie: "There are many. Besides those, there's Elemental magic, which, as you might guess, has to do with the elements, as well as weather and natural storms. Transfiguration, turning one thing into another. Arcane, manipulating the actual raw magical power. Divination, the very rare and somewhat limited art of predicting and seeing the future. Illusions, making people see what you want them to see, et cetera. Enchanting, similar to transfiguration, but instead of changing the object into something else, simply casting spells or adding things onto the object. Healing, yes, healing can be a magic. And of course several more. The thing about spells though is that they can often fit in more than one type, or different types may have different ways of doing the same thing, so it can be complicated. Any other questions?"

Art: He nodded.

Imogen: "What about Black Magic?" she dared to ask.

Art: "Um, what's Black Magic?" he whispered to Imogen.

OOC: Marci on Collins has Divination.....

OOC: Marci on Collins has Divination.....

OOC: I took Divination and Transfiguration straight from Harry Potter lol, but yeah, I get it. Marci's not the only one from Collins that has something similar to these. Alex is a full on elementalist, while Serefima is solely a fire elementalist and River is solely a water elementalist, and Max is probably an illusionist

Art: He nodded.

Ms. Odie: "Ah, Black Magic, or the Dark Arts. I was wondering if that would come up. I am hesitant to teach it to you, as many who are magical disapprove of it. They fear it, and rightfully so, it is powerful magic. However, almost all if not every type of magic can be used for good and evil. It depends on the caster. However, I will approach the principal, and if they approve, you will be learning Black Magic as well."
