This will be our first time using DCL ground transfers and I'm curious as to how it works. We are currently booked at the Hyatt inside MCO but it looks like some of the surrounding hotels are much cheaper. I know you can use transfers and not stay at the Hyatt but where do you go? Where is the DCL bus area?

I'm looking at the Marriott because I have a room certificate that I could use and they of course offer a shuttle to the airport and I'm sure they would know where to take us but I want to know too. Haha. Thanks for any help.

It's next to the WDW Magical Express check-in area.

We stayed at the Hyatt MCO with DCL transfers and it was so easy. They give you a piece of paper to fill out (it's on here somewhere if you search for it to see what it looks like) and then someone comes in your room the next morning at roughly 8:30am to get your luggage. Then you walk downstairs and get on the bus and the next time you see your luggage is outside your stateroom... also the buses are the first to arrive at the port at around 9:30am, it's neat to get to the port first.

Thank you! Unfortunately, I don't know where that is. Haha. We normally either drive down or rent a car so I've never used any Disney transportation at all.

Thanks. We are currently booked at the Hyatt but considering changing to the Marriott to save a little over $300. I know it would be easiest staying at the Hyatt but not sure it's worth $300 to us.

I seem to remember that you get a map with your cruise packet. If not, no worries- just ask at the airport. It's all very easy.

Disney transportation is on level 1 of terminal B.

Red circle shows where the DCL transfer/Magic Express location is, on level 1.

Do you tell the Hyatt you are going to use DCL transfer for this or it automatically goes that way when you book your DLC ground transportation. This is how they do it at the Disney Resort would love to use it here.

When you check in at the Hyatt, it's a good idea to tell them that you're taking DCL transfers the next morning. They, theoretically, already know that, but it doesn't hurt.

They will give you a form to fill out:
hyatt mco letter front 2016 1413 P1080732 1500.jpg

You fill out the bottom part, and turn it in at the DCL transfer desk the next morning when you check in there. It basically is to confirm that DCL received all the bags from the Hyatt they are supposed to.

Sounds great, didn't want to lug my luggage all the way down to level one. Thanks for the visual, you always come through.

We have stayed at the Marriott Res Inn and taken the DCL transfers from MCO. It was super easy and like you, we did it to save money. We took the airport shuttle from hotel back to MCO and they dropped us off right where the buses are on level 1. We checked in and we were the 2nd bus to the port mainly because we were about 10 min too late to be the first. :) I plan to do it again in November.

Yay! Glad to know that it works just as well if you aren't staying directly at the Hyatt. I'm going to cancel the Hyatt reservation and book the Marriott. Thank you so much!

yup we fill out that form Shmoo is showing when you check in and they will show up the next morning, obviously have all your DCL luggage tags on your luggage BEFORE hyatt bellhop picks it up

Ok so maybe dumb question but how does the Hyatt know you are a DCL passenger? Do they ask when you book?
Or how does DCL know you are staying at the Hyatt mco?

Well, our Hyatt stay was booked through DCL. But, if you book direct, I suppose you have to be sure to tell them when you check in that you're taking DCL transfers the next morning, so that they can add you room to the list.

DCL doesn't really need to know you're staying at the Hyatt if you book it yourself. When you inform the check in people at the Hyatt, you'll get the letter with the bottom part for you to fill out. You turn in the bottom part at the DCL transfer desk at the airport when you check in there for the transfer. That slip is DCL's method of ensuring that the Hyatt has brought down all the bags they are supposed to.

Thanks! I was thinking maybe there is some package deal that includes the Hyatt and DCL transfers.
If we fly into MCO before our next cruise we hope to stay at Hyatt airport.
Seems so convenient :)
