We had to say goodbye to our Cinnamon today...
globalwildlifecenter077.jpg

Cinnamon was 16 yrs old and was suffering from old age; she had a FX jaw for over a year that would not heal due to old age, all her teeth were gone, and since just before Christmas a sinus infection that would not go away. Last night Dayne called us in a panic that she was full of blood again and when we got in she acted as though she was unable to stand.

So, Danny and I made the hard decision it was time to end her suffering; this afternoon we brought her. We did not want her to continue at the pace she was going and if something would have happened while we are gone, we did not feel Dayne would be able to handle it.

I am REALLY REALLY sorry that you had to say goodbye to your pup:hug: That is one of the hardest things to do!:sad1:

So sorry to hear about Cinnamon. I hate that you had to make that decision but it sounds like it was the best thing for her. :littleangel:

That is always such a hard decision to make. I'm so sorry for your loss, but you did the absolute right thing. It would be horrible for Cinnamon to keep suffering like that. :grouphug:

Thank you! everyone:grouphug:

My old navy order is suppose to arrive tomorrow. I can't wait to see if everything fits and if I like the dress. I am thinking if I like the dress I may order another one. Still have not found a swimsuit, although I did find a website with some awesome prices and a few suits like the one I had (and loved) from Macy's. I am thinking of ordering one of those (I know how it will look and since they don't have the exact suit it won't be like ordering something I already have  ).

Just wanted to check in with all of you and thank you.

Danny and I are both chickening out about the snorkeling; Danny about the water temp and me well that is just me. I want to do it but over thinking it :rotfl2:....Danny is worried the water temps in the second week of May will be too cool. I told him he is in the Caribbean I don't think it will be too cool...it should be about 85 I'm thinking--cool to me; but, not for him!

Have a wonderful day! all!!!

I'm so sorry about Cinnamon. It is always so hard to make that decision, but sounds as though it was time. And I'm glad the health concerns were not as serious as they might have been. You are doing great with the diet! :cool1:

If there is any opportunity to get in the water with and feed the stingrays, that is great. We did that in the Caymans. I am a little chicken about the snorkeling too, as I don't swim very well, but everyone says it is fantastic. Whatever you decide, it will be terrific, I'm sure.

We were in the Bahamas last year in the first week of May. The temps were in the high 80's and the water felt like bath water!

That being said....if you are nervous about snorkeling, try a place where you can snorkel from the beach. That way, you can wade in, swim out to the reef, snorkel....but if you decide you need a break you can go back and lay on the beach a while. There is a place in Freeport called Paradise Cove that offers a snorkel day for $35 and it's beach snorkeling. http://deadmansreef.com/activities.htm

I've read good reviews about it and we are considering it for our November trip. We did snorkeling from the beach last year and I loved it!

Also, there is a message board a bit like this one for cruisers called Cruise Critic. Definitely not the DIS, but you can find tons of information there on excursions and all things cruise related!

Have a great day! :thumbsup2

Hey! PittypatBR :welcome: over!! Thank you about Cinnamon and we are doing OK; have had a few glitches in the new way of eating around here but we are hanging in there.

I don't think I seen anything about feeding the stingrays in the Bahamas; I have seen about the one in the Caymans. In fact when we talked about doing the Mexican cruise I told Danny I wanted to do that. I swim OK! can take care of myself but would not be able to save some else. When we go to FL I normally let Danny take care of Ashton in the water; just feel safer that way.

Thanks! Missy
I have joined Cruise Critic; no def not the DIS....it is where I found alot of info on the excursions especially about Key West. I will def go check out the link you shared thanks! I did the same thing when I went white water rafting; although I don't think I will do that again....I went on a girl's weekend trip the year before I got PG with Ashton and Danny has been wanting to go again and I try to find other things to do :rolleyes1 instead...

Have a wonderful day! we are having beautiful spring weather today and for the rest of the weekend. Thinking of taking the kids to the zoo tomorrow and errands today! :sunny:

Sorry to hear about Cinnamon, our animals become part of our families. It is hard to say goodbye.

There are so many fun excursions to choose from. I don't blame you for nixing something you aren't sure about. A shore snorkel might be a good option, if you are interested in trying the snorkeling out, or just wait til you go to Typhoon Lagoon.

Thankfully, we are all well here again. Stomach viruses are no fun. Oh, and I do have some news... Looks like we are going the 4 of us to disney around the same as you! Our dates are september 24-october 2, we booked the Pop for the 24-29 and the Poly for 29-2. I am so excited, but even though it is booked it might not happen. Will have to see as it gets closer. I haven't posted on facebook (and probably won't) because it isn't 100% definite yet. I looked at your other link and it would be so much fun to meet so many dissers. I really hope the trip works out.

Connie, as you know, I've been away from the DIS a bit and I am just reading about Cinnamon and the very difficult decision you had to make. Our Cookie is 13 and is slowing down and I worry how much longer we will have with her.

Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. It is so difficult to lose a member of the family.

Sorry to hear about your doggy. I don't have any pets but my mom does and I know how she feels when she loses her doggies.

Hey Connie! I'm subbing! Just got done reading through your plans!

I'm sorry about cinnamon, sounds like she had 16 wonderful years and was lucky to have you! :lovestruc

Congrats on your upcoming 25th!!! Rey & I are celebrating 20 this year, but our trip alone won't be until next Feb. so I guess we'll be almost to 21st then! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to read more!

I have been slacking...I will mail Jack Sparrow ASAP:goodvibes

Have a good weekend. Things are cooking for Sept..it may work out yet!:thumbsup2

Connie, I have a 1 piece suit my Aunt gave me with tags still on it. (she is rich and does this all the time) I tried it on the other day. It says on the tag size 16, but it is a sucker in one and I could barely get it over my HUGE thighs. Once up it was OK, but It was too much of a pain to get it up and down. I would say it is more like a 14 or maybe even a 12. If you want it, you can have it. It is flowery I think. I can take a picture. If you are interested just PM me.
