School bread in Norway

After seeing the comparative photos, I can tell you exactly what they've done to the school bread. They used to make it daily, and with fresh ingredients. Now they make it once or twice a week, and use a formula for the bread that will last longer. [Ive been a baker all my life] After seeing what it used to look like, I am so disappointed now, I'll bet it WAS very good!

The old ones were incredible. You had a hard time eating it with all the yummy cream. Now its dry and icky.... Thanks for the photos, its a great way to show the change!

Aw man! I wish I tried the school bread before the change- it looks delicious! I liked it but I was wondering why it was a bit dry and not filled with much custard.

I had it for the first time this past Aug and really enjoyed it! And I am not a big fan of coconut. DF got a pretzel that has white and milk chocolate drizzled over it, it was nice and soft and also very yummy. When we paid for it the CM told us those were the 2 most popular foods in there.
When did this change take place, did I have the old version or the new?

You had the newer less liked version, and you obviously went on the first day when they were fresh that week.

After reading so much about this incredible school bread, i dragged my wife around EPCOT in 95 degree heat of July. I wanted to surprise her with this incredible dessert. What a disappointment! It tasted like a day old donut that nobody wanted. I too am glad to hear that the recipe used to be different. That explains a lot.

I had it in 2009, and it was great. I waited last week for 15 minutes to get it, and it was AWFUL. Stale and tasteless. Never again.

Darn. I really was hoping to try some. I had no idea there was an issue with the recipe. I won't waste my time or money.

I stopped in to see how it looks when I was just there last week and it looks revolting. It's even worse than the 2nd picture I posted earlier. I spoke to them and told the workers how awful it is now. They said I should come back on Sunday bc that's when they are "bigger and fresher". Well, I did go on Sunday and they looked disgusting. They were smaller than a Dunkin' Donut and so flat. Such a sin - they used to be amazing.

I did try school bread in Decembr. The filling was good. The cake part was dry. I threw most of it out.

On the other hand, the soup and sandwich in Norway made one of the best lunhes I had that week!
