I need some people from different countries or cultures who like sports and knows of sports in their community (most popular one), it doesn't matter who all answers, just tell me what country your from and the sport. and answer these questions.

Question 1: What is your name?
Question 2: What is your communities favorite sport?
Question 3: Do you include people with disabilities into your game?
Question 4: What are any special rules or modifications you make for these friends?

Thank you for your responses!

for those that answer, a cookie and a thumbs up! :thumbsup2

I'll help you out. ;)
My name is Nicole (can't give out last name, sorry!) and I'm from Canada. The sport that my community (and most of Canada) plays is hockey. Definitely hockey, even though I'm not that fond of it (I enjoy soccer more). It's popularity is almost like football in the USA. People with disabilities can be included but it depends on their condition. I would say that mentally disabled people are supervised unless they are a danger to either themselves or others on the ice.
Paraplegics can also play. They use a sort of sled looking thing to sit in. Using the hockey sticks and their arms, they push themselves around the hockey rink. I'm not sure about different rules but I guessing they are pretty much the same as the regular hockey. It would just be a little bit slower. But still, it's quite interesting to watch.
Hope that helps!
Good luck. :thumbsup2

Question 1: What is your name? Sara, and I'm from the USA, North Carolina to be exact.
Question 2: What is your communities favorite sport? Baseball!!!! <3
Question 3: Do you include people with disabilities into your game? It depends what their disability is... if they have some mental issues, then yeah they play, but if they're in a wheel chair then they can't really play baseball... it just depends.
Question 4: What are any special rules or modifications you make for these friends? None.

I suppose an Australian would be of great help here! :)

Question 1: My name is Stephen (lemme know if you need last names too) and I'm from Sydney, Australia

Question 2: I would say there are two favourite sports in Australia that are equally popular. One is called National Rugby League (or NRL) and that is kind of like the international rugby you may have heard of from places such as Britain. This is played mostly along the East Coast of Australia. The other one is called Australian Rules Football (AFL) and that is a uniquely Australian game, which requires people to run around a circular field and kick balls between the posts. AFL is mostly played on the West Coast and in the Southeast, although it is picking up in popularity on the East Coast too.

Question 3: It is a bit difficult to include people with physical difficulties in the game (eg unable to walk) since the game is played on a large open field and usually requires a bit of physical contact (especially in NRL, where physical contact means tackling the opponent!). However there are many other sports that are popular in Australia that are more disability-friendly, such as basketball and swimming. On the other side, major sports teams in Australia play a huge role in Australia working with kids with disabilities etc and this usually involves playing a bit of sport with them as well. As for people with mental illnesses for example, they don't really play on a national scale for the major teams but generally there are smaller teams that they can play with if interested, so long as their mental illness would not lead to them causing themselves or others harm.

Question 4: Special rules or modifications? Well I suppose if a person in a wheelchair for example wants to play basketball, they would be placed in a team of other people in wheelchairs. Just a side note here, it was part of our school curriculum here that in Physical Education class we had to learn about disabled people in sports and as part of that we all had to play a wheelchair basketball game. Dunno if this helps, just thought I'd put it there in case.

I hope I answered your questions alright. If you need any more info please message me.

1) Katie and I'm from the USA, Everett Washington area to be exact
2) Maybe Football, that's deffinately a popular one also Hockey's really popular here also
3) Well if it's physical not exactly but we do have a Special Olympics out here and there's never saying never I know a boy with who lost his arm in a terrible accident who's a star soccer player he's just learned what he can do with his dissability. Also I know another boy who's completely blind and made state for Wrestling he's fought his dissabilty but never given up.
4) Not really any except like if you played in a wheelchair you would play on a wheel chair league. But for my 2 examples they've learned how to work with their dissability also I know for at least Wrestling we have a Olympic coach who competed in the 2004 and 2004 Athens games and placed quite well, he's really helped him with his dissability and is a true inspiration!
