Schlep bags or let Magical Express get them?

Our flight arrives at 7:45 p.m. Should we get our bags ourselves or let DME take care of them? We are staying at POP and have small kids, so an early bedtime will be important to us.

We always get our own bags. We never had problems getting them on ME bus, most of the people let ME take care of it. I'm not sure how long it takes for you to get your bags delivered to the hotel. We just like to have them right away.

If you plan to put the kids to bed right away when you check in,then it might be a good idea, or you could just put some jams in the carry-ons in case.

Gonna be tough getting the little ones to sleep right away though, once they see the grounds etc...

We've always gotten our luggage within a couple of hours. We've used ME 3 times and been fine so far.

I always use DME for luggage, but in my carry on have jammies, bathing suit, & a change of clothes.
After arriving, I'm sure your kids will want to look around, maybe grab a bite to eat, a little swim? before winding down form the excitement of being there!

I'm choosing to schlep this time around. I've had my bags delivered three times and never really had a problem per se...but last time I definitely needed a change of clothes and didn't have them.

sometines it takes 3 hours to get bags so woudl take kids pajamas with your carry on. they will bring to room when they get them. or you can go get them your self and take with you on the ME --just do not put ME tags on your bags---we have done that on late flights. and have no problems either way.

We've always let ME take care of our luggage and have never had a problem. I would also suggest packing pj's in a carry on just to be prepared. When we land, we book to ME - we want to get on property as soon as possible. You are landing late at night though, so maybe you do want to grab them since you won't be hitting a park that day. We usually land before noon and are in a park by 1:00, so our situation is different.

Schelp here too. We don't land until 9 pm and I'm sure in won't be in the mood for the luggage to arrive a midnight. Again.

Totally schlep them!!

We no longer let DME handle our bags ever since the one trip we landed late with 3 very tired, little children. Didn't know any better, so thought, fine - bring our bags to us. No pj's, no toothbrushes - put kids to bed with instructions NOT to wake us but leave bags at desk. We will get them in morning. What happens next? 3 am knock on the door. " Your bags are here." Great.

I'd shlep them too. Last month we landed early and we shleped them. Got to our resort by 10:30am and our room was ready. We went and unpacked and had our room all set up by lunchtime. Since you are landing late I would def. get the bags.

If staying at Pop, I would get the bags myself, and bring them to the bus with me. But still be sure to pack anything you absolutely have to have for the night in a carryon bag..just in case a checked bag gets misdirected by the airline. Pop doesn't have the fastest, most efficient baggage delivery system..so, if you land at 7:45, you will most likely be at Pop by 9:15. Your bags may not get to you until midnight, if at all that night.
If you do choose to allow DME to get the bags ...again, pack that carryon properly....when you check in at Pop, tell them to hold your bags. Then, go to Luggage Assistence, right outside the main entrance, and tell them the same thing. When you get to your room, hang out the privacy please placard on your door. That will prevent any late night knocking.
