Just looked at the online schedule for 12/13 and 12/14, and its showing California Adventure closing at 9pm, but the last world of Color being performed at 10.15pm, that seems like a big gap from park closing, doesn't it?

Also, it looks like Disneyland is also closing at 6pm those two days, which are two of the three full days we will be there. Pretty bummed as our trip was already going to be short. Unfortunately the schedule wasnt out when we purchased the plane tickets, does anybody know how common this is?

The 13th and 14th are Cast Member Christmas parties held at DL. That is why they are closing early. Normally the CM parties are held earlier in December. Sorry it will put a damper on your trip.

As the PP noted the reason, obvious it's not very common. Sorry it didn't work out well for you.


Also not that the parks don't close at those times. The ride ques are closed at those times and you have roughly and extra hours to make your way out of the parks. Dining will have staggered closing in that hour and stores will remain open.

I always understood that the early closing for the CM parties was a HARD closing at 6 pm. They have the holiday Believe fireworks at 5:45 pm with snow afterward, and then announce that the park is officially closed. I don't believe stores are open later on these evenings since they need to get people out so they can set up for the CM parties.

I assumed it was a mistake in the schedule, so that means that the last hour and a half the park will be mostly people waiting for WOC. It seemed like on most days the last WOC color was only 15 minutes after closing, not 1:15. Thanks for clearing it up, maybe it will mean fewer people cause there's nothing else to do at the park, or maybe more people because DL is closed. Don't know what to think.

In a sense you will be waiting to get into Paradise Park for a lot of that time. Your WoC FP will have a return window overlapping most of it not that you have to get there at that time. I would expect WoC to be busy as it normally is for each show and the added problem of the early DL closing will drive people across to DCA in the evening.

My strategy would be to get into a long line just before 9pm at DCA. Maybe TSM or TOT. Screamin' will already be closed for the night in prep for WOC but TSM will remain open 'til 9. By the time you exit (probably 9:30-9:45) it should be time for you to start heading to WOC. No problem, you won't be twidling your thumbs for 1 1/4 hours.
