Scent & Water Effects

Hi there! I saw an article from July stating that scent and water effects had been turned off on most rides. Is this still the case and if so, which rides are affected? I'm going in April 2021 with DH, Mom & Dad. They haven't been on FoP and the new Soarin', so hoping they can get the full experience. I know FoP has a shortened pre-show, which is a bummer, but hopefully they can still experience the sights, sounds and smells of Pandora. If the effects are on, have you found the mask hinders experiencing them? TIA!

We were there the week before Thanksgiving and the scents were on in Soarin and in Spaceship Earth. We did not do AK, so can't speak to that.

We were there last week and scents were on FoP in addition to what PP mentioned. I did not find that scents were hindered with filtered masks.

The story from back then wasn't accurate. With the exception of an occasional mechanical failure all scent/spray devices on all attractions are functional.

I wanted add in October when we visited, the water effects for Kali weren’t working (other than getting splashed on the drop). I don’t know if it was intentional or a ride glitch. Whatever the reason, I was appreciative as our masks stayed dry. We expected the same last week when we were there for Thanksgiving, but the water features were all working (not the elephants at the end, although maybe no one was standing there to activate them). Luckily I had brought extra masks to the park. We got quite wet, which was fun. It would have been more fun in October when it was really hot, though.

We were at MK last week and the Splash Mountain water “cannons” that blast you on the turn and the waterfall at the end were both off. Not sure if it is a regular thing. Smelled scents everywhere though!
