So DH and I are almost positively going to book WL for our trip in January... as long as there is a code/discount!

We had our dining plans all picked out (early, I know!), but now if we go to WL there might be a wrench thrown into the plans.

We are doing the DxDP so we're eating at a lot of signature restaurants.

We hadn't planned on eating at Artist Point, but since we're going to stay at WL, it seems like a great first night after an exhausting day of travel!

Now we WERE going to head to the boardwalk and eat at Yachtsman Steakhouse, but I can push that back to our DHS day.

On our DHS we were going to eat at Flying Fish.

My question is, would you keep plans the way they are (Yachtsman the first night, Flying Fish on DHS day) or nix either Yachtsman or Flying Fish and enjoy Artist Point on the first night?

If adding Artist Point, which would should we drop and why?

Thank you!

I would do Artist Point the first night...it's close and it's good and why have to travel for dinner that night? The second night is up in the air. Yachtsman and Flying Fish are both great. I would base my decision on what type of food I'd want to eat. One specializes in steaks, the other in seafood...they are close together so the travel period will be about the same that night. Wow. What fantastic food you guys will enjoy!

I would do Cali Grill the first night
Jiko
FF
Citricos

The menu at AP just doesnt wow me

I would do AP and skip Yachtsman. The menu at AP appeals to me more than YS, but both have excellent food. Really its a personal decision, but I'd also probably opt for AP just because you won't have to run around and its good food that is right there for you.

I would do AP and Flying Fish. I think those menus are very different from each other while AP and Yachtsman are kind of similar.

That's exactly how I see it.
Should add tho that I'd favor YSH over AP to begin with. But AP has the advantage of being right there, which I guess would matter after a long travel day.

I would favor Artist Point over Yachtsman. Have not dined at FF. You can see my review of AP in my dining review. I haven't done my Yachtsman review yet. Artist Point was a very tasty meal. You may want to conside how much time you want to spend eating after a long travle day. In room dining or a regular ts restaurant may work better than a signature restaurant. The signature restaurants usually take about 2 hours to dine. Although if younare in early than signature dining is a good choice.

I would keep the ressie at AP, mostly because I know I hate to travel outside my hotel for dinner on the first night. For your second night, I think it really depends if you're interested in steak v. seafood. If you haven't already worked Jiko into your reservations, you definitely should. If you've got a third night with Sig. Dining, I would say 1. AP; 2. FF (for the seafood); 3. Jiko... the steak w/ mac and cheese there is to die for. Then you've covered your seafood and steak bases.

Thanks for the responses!

I guess I'll clarify:

We already have other signatures in play.

We plan on eating at:

Jiko
Narcoossee's

then 2 of the following:
Artist Point
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Flying Fish

Citricos menu just doesn't interest DH, and we've eaten at California Grill before - while delicious, we want something new!

We'll be there 6 nights, but one night we'll be eating at Rose and Crown for Illuminations (or should we just eat an early dinner at FF or Yachtsman and head back to just watch Illuminations?).

The other night DH has his heart set on Whispering Canyon... I'm not too excited, I haven't read the BEST reviews, but he's dead set on all-you-can-eat ribs and refillable milkshakes.

I think what we'll do is keep Artist Point for the first night, and try to decide whether we'd like to eat that gorgeous red snapper at FF or a juicy ribeye at Yachtsman...

Thanks again for your help!
