Hello everyone, long time reader first time writer but a lifelong Disney fan who needs a little a help!

My wife and I are planning our first anniversary trip and I thought it would be a fun idea to surprise her with a scavenger hunt. We're passholders who visit almost bi-weekly so we have a lot of great memories there and one of my first thoughts is to harness those locations for clues.

I did take part in the D23 scavenger hunt a few years back so I have a general idea of what to do, but since I've never constructed a scavenger hunt and this is my year of being anti-antisocial I thought I'd ask the awesome DIS folks to help me kick some ideas around.

For starters we got married on Luau beach, her favorite park is AK(she loves giraffes) and she also loves the water parks. I was thinking about integrating every facet of entertainment, including character spots, shows, rides etc. Maybe have one of the destinations be dinner but coordinate it with its number on the park map, stuff like that.

I appreciate any and help you guys can offer!

I always seem to suggest this just because I think it's a great way to pay it forward and interact with other guests, but how about collecting kiddie princess autographs of each of the Disney princesses with extra points for the rarer ones or kiddie princes?

And how about a couple of challenges? If you got married on Luau Beach (very cool, BTW), make one of the challenges eating an anniversary kitchen sink at Beaches and Cream?

If she likes AK, then maybe have photos with her favourite characters as items on the scavenger hunt? Or completing the Wilderness Explorer badges?

Here's a few ideas:

  • Find the giraffes in the Tree of Life
  • On all rides that take a picture, kiss while the picture is being taken
  • Trade for a complete set of pins-- all Muppets, all Country Bears-- the more unique the better. Up the challenge by restricting this to trading only at resorts, not in parks-- one trade per resort
  • On Main Street, choose a name on a window (one neither of you are familiar with). Use your phones to look up who he was and his contribution to MK. Bonus points if you can figure out why he was given the job he was on the window (for example, the man listed as Justice of the Peace was difficult to work with)
  • Take pictures with all the musical groups in one park
  • Review Gaston's song from "Beauty and the Beast." Challenge Gaston to something related to the song, like who has the most incredibly thick neck
  • Take a picture of her engagement ring next to Mme. Leota's on HM.
  • See who can write his or her initials faster on the honey wall in Winnie the Pooh interactive queue.
  • See who scores higher on TSMM and Buzz Lightyear-- are either of you Galactic Heroes?
  • Talk to guests in line all day. Which guest is from farthest away?
  • Ask each princess how she would recommend celebrating your anniversary
  • Explore a QS dining location with a lot of detail in the decor like Columbia Harbor House, Backlot a Express, or Restaurantosaurus. Based on the details, create your own backstory about the restaurant-- the one that integrates the most props from the restaurant wins
  • Ride all the boats in all 4 parks, or all the spinners, or all the dark rides
  • Find the attraction with the longest wait time
  • Go to all shops in Epcot, take pics in the goofiest stuff like Viking hats or sombreros
