Scary Thought

Today I heard on New Jersey 101.5 news program that our troops in Iraq conducted a raid on a suspected terrorist location and found detailed plans of some New Jersey school buildings.

I called my DD who is a New Jersey teacher and asked her if she also heard about this story. She said she did and that the teachers were recently told to watch out for any suspicious activity around the school property and immediately report it.

Has anyone else heard this news report?

I heard about the warnings to schools in NJ, but the paper made it sound like it was because of what happened in Russia.

Uhhhh. I just heard on the news tonight that the material was in the possession of someone planning schools for Iraq and that they had downloaded the info from the Dept of Education.

So these districts were being used as models for something good not as targets for terrorists.

I also heard this on tonight's local news.

I hope so, because one of the school's, in Franklinville, isn't far from me!

I do not know if it make local news but in Marshfield Mass two days ago they found a huge plot by a couple of kids to kill as many kids and teachers as they could. The "plan" according to the news was to kill as many as they could and the students were going to carry it out on the anniversary of the Columbine massacre. There were detailed lists and even elaborate drawings of the layout of the school.
You know, terrorists at least are our enemies but what is more scary is the kid sitting in the classroom chewing his pencil today could be planning devistation tomorrow. Because this kid is a juvinile(16) he might not even be tried as an adult!!
