Zackie, great story!

I too
love writing and have been told that I have a great talent for it

, but I just don't have the time right now to devote the time and effort. Your story deserves to be published!
I sort of have a story of my own; although it's not scary, it does have to do with "someone watching over me"...
In March of 2003, I set out from my house to do a bit of shopping in a border town 1.5 hours away from me. March in my part of Canada is very unpredictable; it can be storming one day and sunny the next. I had planned this shopping trip for the day before, but sure enough a storm came up so I waited until the next day to see what the weather would be like. It was nice and sunny, so I packed the car up and left.
Now, the drive to this border town entails a drive on the highway, and what I had not considered was that the snow that had fallen the day before was being melted into pools of water by the sun shining in the sky at the present moment. I was stuck behind a transport truck that was spraying a slush/water combo onto my windshield, so I had two choices: 1)Pass the truck, or 2)Go 40mph on the highway to stay far enough back so that I can see well enough to drive.
I chose 1) and pulled out to pass, going about 70 mph. Going around a bend in the road, my tires caught a puddle of melted snow and I could feel the car spinning. What happened in the next few seconds is a bit of a blur, but I
distinctly remember thinking that
I was going to die. I remember hearing crunches like the sound of breaking glass, and a "thump" as the hood of the car hit the ground. The car eventually came to a stop, wheels down, in the ditch beside the highway, facing the opposite direction that I had been driving. I had enough sense to turn off the ignition, and I sat there thinking "WHAT am I going to do now?". I tried to open the car door but because I had landed in a ditch filled with snow, my door wouldn't open because of the snow pushing against it. At the time I didn't have a cell phone, but I had borrowed my mother's because I was going to be driving on the highway, alone, in the winter. I had the phone in my hand, ready to dial 911, when two truckers showed up. One held my head and neck in case I was injured, and the other one called the ambulance.
At the hospital, they checked me over and I was fine. No scratches, bruises, cuts, or injuries AT ALL. I didn't know until later, but the car was the same way; even though I had done a 180, flipped twice (therefore landing on the roof twice), and landed in a ditch, the only thing broken on the car were the two rear view mirrors that were taken completely off. The front and back windshields and the headlights were fine; no broken glass at all. I still wonder who was looking out for me that day, especially because I passed a transport truck; they take a long time to stop, and if I had stalled in the middle of the road...but all is good, and I'm here to enjoy yet another Halloween season filled with spirits, witches and scary stories!
