Scary Disney bus ride tonight

Tonight when Epcot was closing and we were in line to go back to AKL, the bus driver pulled up and asked us if he was at the right station. I should have known it was a bad sign.

He missed his turn off and we ended up off Disney property! He made a u-turn on the interstate. He had to call ( while he was driving, yikes!) to get directions to our lodge. He then almost turned into moving traffic , until the front part of the bus yelled at him to stop.

We were lost for over 1/2 hour! He did apologize but it scared a heck of a lot of people. I was so thankful to be back tonight.

Wow! That would have been scary. We prefer to drive to the parks ourselves, and this makes me glad we do. :lmao:

You need to write a complaint. It is important that things that scary be brought to higher up attention to keep those things from happening again and again.

You need to send an email to disney's guest relations. That driver needs more training immediately.

Glad you made it to AKL!

I thought they had a GPS system on each bus? Is that not the case?
Not in the sense of a Garmin or Magellan.

The GPS allows for tracking of the bus, and works with the programmed route to trigger spiels, marquee changes, and music changes. The only feedback to the driver is "on route" or "off route."

It was a Disney transportation bus. Luckily we haven't seen this guy again on our trip. Someone did make a complaint. Thanks everyone!

But, during the mayhem did you have a moment to ask him when Fastpass+ would go live and how many fastpasses we will be able to get? did ya? did ya???

Must have been the same guy who pulled up to the bus stop at Kidani last week and asked us where he was supposed to be going lol. Naturally we told him he was supposed to go where we wanted to go.

I used to do things like that when I drove the bus at the university (I should not say which one). It was weird in the sense that I drove the bus the students took to catch the NJ Transit bus.

I've also asked where we were going (with tongue in cheek) a couple of times on a charter run.

I had a ride like that once. We were on a bus in Fort Wilderness and the driver had a trainer along with him. It was dark and I noticed it seemed we were outside Disney in traffic. The trainer got on the PA and said he had good and bad news for us. The good news was he had saved a lot of money switching to GEICO, the bad news was the driver got lost but he'd have us back at FW in a bit. Then we drove into WDW by Vista Blvd.
