Ok, so this morning my mom thought it would be a good idea to try a new muffin recipe. She's regularly a good cook, but this time lets just say it wasn't the best. Here's what she made:

They were purple!!

Lets just say they were kinda hard and tasted very... different.

Not quite sure how they came out purple but we called them barney muffins

That could be why they're purple then. Because on the outside, blueberrys are dark blue but if you open it up, its purple.

yup yup...I would guess that you overmixed the batter with the blueberries in it, resulting in purple and hard muffins.

When making muffins, the key is less is more. Muffins are fluffy because of air trapped in the mix. If you beat all of the air out, the muffins are hard. The blueberries were also broken that way.
