Hi there. I have just booked a ressie for the sci fi dine in. Problem is we have a 4, 6 and 8 year old in our party. Are the movies shown suitable for these ages? Are the movies more toungue-in-cheek, Simpsons like?:confused3 I will point out that the 4 year old is mine and is quite sensitive, and the 6 and 8 year old are also very sensitive with a mother who is paranoid about suitability!

I know my son is not really at the age where he can look at something and think "ha ha, what dreadful special effects, don't believe that at all"!! He is not really a child that is laid back about things going on around him - he takes everything in and thinks about it all.

On the other hand if it is really very obvious that it is a joke (Simpsons like), we would love to go.

Thanks

The Sci Fi movies are short clips or trailers from 50s 60s B- Movies.... Cheesey, "Scary" movies that are much more cheesey than scary. There are a few cartoons thrown in there too.

My kids have never had a problem....but it depends on the kid. The clips are really cheezy, so much so that they are more funny than scary (like pp said).:thumbsup2

...FUNNY! There's so much to look at while you're there, the movie clips are just a small part of the fun!

No Worries!!!;)

For some reason, when we were there they were showing mostly Tom and Jerry cartoons. My DS5 loved it! :thumbsup2

He loved the entire experience!

The atmosphere is really not scary at all.

The food, however... :sad2:

My son was scared to death of it, because it was black and white. He is ultra sensitive though.

My niece was 10 when we went and trust me... she's afraid of EVERYTHING and she loved it there.

If she was OK, everyone will be OK. My aughter was 3 at the time and liked it too.

DD is a real chicken -- scared of the dark especially. She wasn't scared at all -- really focused more on eating in a car. But we have been to drive-in movies several times.

Our DS (3.5 at the time) was scared of the monster clips, but liked the cartoons. He's a little tentative by nature, and it was a little too much for him. He did, however, love his father's chocolate milkshake.

We're skipping it next time, and waiting to try it again when he's a little older.

I'm a big scaredy-cat but they're only trailers of old movies that were supposed to be scary at the time.. def. funny! and if these trailers were on tv in the 1950s, im sure suitability is not an issue :rotfl:

We went once with a large party that had two children who were frightened of Sci Fi. They were fine with the movie clips - but they hated how dark it was

I would not worry at all, nothing scary. My youngest 2 are very shy and have never had a problem:) They can't wait to go back!!

YES! It's very difficult to get an ADR due to the car seating.

:offtopic: We've been eyeing the Oasis of the Seas for next August too! That ship looks AMAZING! :yay:

I have been checking prices to see if there has been a rate drop and the ship seems to be filling up fast...don't wait too long....

Oh, I know! The prices are only going up not down! Right now the Carnival Dream is offering rockbottom early saver rates. Very tempting! For our family of four, it's HALF the price of the Oasis! We're sailing somewhere, just not sure which ship :rotfl2: Enjoy the Oasis!

So sorry to go off topic! :guilty:
