Scared of the mummy!!

Not sure if I should try the mummy this year!Always hang out while everyone else rides!Why??I am afraid that I will freak-out!Not a pretty sight!!I get claustrophobia in close dark places!DH says that I will be fine...be honest, what do you all think??

It is not totally dark. There are all kinds of things to look at! Its a show, (kinda) that happens to have a roller coaster in it. It is not a scary coaster, doesnt invert, just goes kinda fast. I really hope you try it.


I have never ever heard of anyone that didnt LOVE it!

if you are worried about the special effects... can you do Spiderman? If so mummy shouldn't be a problem at all

Just ride it. You only live once. Nothing is going to happen to you. You will love it! It happens to be my favorite ride in Universal.

Ok, we went to universal back in april, and I'm not a coaster rider at all...I tend to get vertgio and alot of rides make me sick to my stomach, I'm always afraid of loosing my lunch, plus I'm a heavy person, so the seating is never so great....that begining said, I did ride the mummy, it was just my dd and I and I felt sorry for her riding alone so I felt like I could give it a try.
1. The ride goes by very fast, it was the quickest ride we rode all day.
2. I fit in the seat just fine.
The ride goes very fast speed and makes two drops, the first one is a breeze , the second was not a straight drop, but a curve drop you kind of circle around and that's alot further but anyone can do it.
I rode it twice the right side of the ride is more smooth than the left, so get in first. You go into rooms to look around so-of speak and the rooms are wide, you shouldn't feel closed in at all. I seriously beleive that if I can take this ride anyone can. The only thing I did not like about the ride was the sudden stop at the end, it just jurks to a stop and the first time I wasn't prepared and it made me feel alittle yucky. Alot of people are creeped out by the bugs coming off the walls in one room but I just thought it was really cool looking, just watch a clip on youtube and your basically have the whole thing down pat.

Before you ride, go into the gift shop and buy a med-jai symbol. This will protect you from the Mummy's Curse.

And the building the coaster is in is HUGE. There is darkness, yes, but it's so open there is nothing to fear....except the Curse.

I haven't seen "It's Tough to Be a Bug," but I have been on the Revenge of the Mummy (one of my favorite rides btw!). You will see the bugs crawling on the ceiling and down the walls maybe (?), but you will not "feel" them.

I love this ride! PM me if you want more details on the ride (don't want to spoil it for everyone).

actually no, which surprised me as I was sure they would have put that on the ride...they didnt. You do feel a couple of drops of water but thats it and barely noticable usually

Thanks guys...the bug feeling thing was my main concern..now I can ride with no fear
