scanning with a canon 870

I have scanned documents to a usb flash drive on this printer. it has a usb port.

I have a lot of SD cards. Is there a way that you can put the SD card into a usb adapter then put it into the usb port on the printer and scan onto the SD card?

Sure, any standard USB card reader with a single slot should do the trick.
