scams in a trade, need help

Hello.

Today 3/24, a girl person named "<name removed> scammed one of my friends.

I'm writing to ask if anyone knows this person, to warn you to watch out, and to ask to help keep an eye out for her trying to trade off stuff.

<name removed> was wearing a full Sparrow. My friend made a large trade offer for her Sparrow of about 45 items (rare furniture, clothes, pins). After they came to an agreement, they started to trade the first 15 items, which is the maximum that will fit in a trade window.

<name removed> asked to wait to give the sparrow pieces until after she got more items. My friend agreed, trusting her to re-open a trade. Obviously, a bad mistake!

<name removed> ran off. My friend reported her immediately.

Here is what she got away with (or pretty close):

1 Penny Press Red
1 Malificent Throne
1 Pirate Well
4 Ice Cube Chairs

If you know this person, please have them do the right thing and return the items. I will be happy to help this person find my friend again.

The trouble with that is...

While 99% of the community leaders were people who want to help, how does anyone truly know they can trust a player just because they have CL_ before their title with the previous method that VMK used for selecting CLs?

Ultimately, CLs are players, just like you and me. Unless VMK find another method of screening CLs and knowing for an absolute fact (something they cant do) that someone else is not signed on to a CLs account, truth is, you are still taking a risk.

But, Sparrow is pretty expensive, so it was not that unusual of a request to get more items before giving up anything.

We *do* put some trust in each other to be fair. It stinks when someone takes advantage of that trust.

Some kind of Community Leaders would be fantastic! In the meantime, I am always grateful for nice people here at Dis who trade fair.

And to the moderators who volunteer to keep it a great place.

If anyone would like to know the name of the person who scammed, there are no rules from preventing you to pm that name

I think the most important point is made, just like you said. A reminder that scammers are still out in force in vmk and you need to be careful

Yes thats the point Ppl are still able to scam!
I think The cl should be around again or is there the program under wraps?!?! tell us yavn lol!
