Scammer On The Dis Boards

I was trading my yellow treasure chest chair over the dis boards for room codes and furniture

the person gave me non working HM room codes and a pirate prison room code which idk if it works. Im not using it cuz i want to trade back

he claims the HM room codes work tho they do not

First you advertised what you wanted. I agreed to it. Then you asked for more and I agreed, but you never had the decency to respond to me.

Now you traded with someone else and it didn't work out. There you go, you should have traded with a reputable Dis person.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. I have made three trades her on the Dis. All have been very positive trades. Never be afraid to trade with JeanJoe, lab_girl, or April in Disney. These three members have proven to be good for there word . I'm about to make my fourth trade for a room code, I'm hopeful that this will goes as well as my first three.

I don't get how people can do that. It's supposed to be a fun safe game but now there's scammer. It's just the world now a days I guess... people can't find anything else better to do so they just scam little kids and adults. That's truthfully really sad.

I was involved in a trade with codes and unfortunately the codes I offered didn't work. The other person and I kept trying for a few days and I even offered different codes. Come to find out my son had used the codes and didn't tell me.

Since it wasn't a room I was able to take the stuff out of his inventory and trade. It took a while, but I was finally able to make good on the offer. I felt really bad and would have hated if the other person posted something like this about me. But then again I was in constant communication during the whole ordeal.

Hang on how do you know that other person is a scammer?

1. Do we know that they typed in the code correctly
2. Was has the person said about the code not working
3. It Is possible that he had a bad code. I have lots of quest and once in a while I get one where the card is blank and there is no code or the code does not work.

Isn't there a way to write to VMK about a code that doesn't work?

I know of a case where someone traded inferno for a code and that code didn't work. VMK got involved and that person was banned for life

I also know of someone that said a code didn't work. VMK was able to verify that he had in fact entered a code for a particular room and that person was banned for 30 days I think I was never sure.

VMK does not always get involved but it is worth a chance to write to them.

Codes should only be traded with a well know Dis person. Is this person well known? If not then ChiaBob knew better. He has been around here long enough to know about trade safety.

So I guess I don't need the know the persons name but how long has he been in this board and how many posts does he have?

Tha doesn't guarantee a fair trade always but I think that someone that particiaptes in these boards a lot would not risk their repuation by cheating another Dis person.

Please give this person a chance. I know I've sent "bad" codes to people here on the Dis before (not on purpose!) But when they've brought it to my attention, I've investigated and found out it was due to a mis-spelling on my part. Codes are very hard to read correctly and then type out correctly (at least for me, anyways!)

It may just be something simple to fix once the person is aware of it and can make it right again. Give them a chance

Sometimes the codes just don't work. I sent a group of gold ear codes to Blizzard for prizes for the amazing race. They were all new cards, and I know I hadn't used them, but a few of the codes didn't work. I sent her new codes, but I kept trying them and later the codes worked for me. The same also happened to me with a herbie code. The code I traded for didn't work, the trader gave me a different code that was fine. About a week later the original code worked for the person who originally sent me the code (she wisely kept trying it as she knew it should work).

I guess my point is, don't be too quick to judge. Sometimes the codes don't work, but that may not be due to their already being used. Let the person have a chance to make it right, or keep trying the code on different days to see if it finally works. You may be surprised.

The codes are not always working and you should keep trying. I had once done quests and only one of the codes worked. Few days later I got few other to work and so forth. The problem with room codes is that the other person can not try it or it would be worthless. Try putting the code in different room that sometimes is the answer.

Not to mention- dh and I get home and I entered my quest stuff in and he did some of his

a few days later he tries to enter the rest and none of it works

I ask him to hand them to me because I was on as dd and was entering a new room code for her

and each code that he tried to enter on himself and didn't work- worked just fine on my dd's character- so we then just traded the stuff back to him

but yeah it was really weird

Chiabob, you bumped this thread, but didn't give an update on your progress. How are you making out on this trade gone bad? An idea that might work is if the trader has the original card and can scan it and send it to you that might help. Maybe he has the number/letters mixed up somehow. It's easy to mix them up and read them wrong.
