Scam Poll...Have you ever been scammed in VMK

Since I was scammed it has made me start to look at what others players are wearing and wondering how any one person could possibly have so many rare...and wondering just how many people have been scammed.

I dont really trade a lot, but when I do it's for big things.... but I have yet to be scammed in a trade....

People try and scam me constantly, I guess my character looks really stupid. But no, nobody has ever been successful.

I was, learned my lesson. Although It wasn't very rare. I played a game of spin the number. Owner liked my St. Patricks Day hat so he said if i give my hat I get 5 spins, I gave him hat, he gave me the boot! Now I never pay to play games.

I'm not sure I would consider it a scam or not, but I was cheated out of a fair deal when I was still new to trading. I think we've all been there, when we were new to vmk. Since then, I have not been cheated or scammed, although I rarely trade.

I haven't been scammed but people have tried. I usually click "cancel" if a random trade window pops up from someone I don't know. Once when I was in someone's guest room I let someone open a trade window, they said "pay or I boot". It wasn't even the owner of the room! I'm not that stupid.

I've been scammed... I was trading for a stitch hat.. Luckily I was running a screen recorder and got the whole thing. I sent that to VMK along with the scammers name and got my stuff back...

I've had plenty of attempts, but none successful thankfully. I'm just not very trusting I guess. I've taken risks though, like trading credits for stuff, but I've been lucky.

I've never been scammed, but some did try to attempt...and some were very humorous attempts. The "mugging" attempts really just make me laugh! I had one person attempt to convince me to let her borrow my snowman magic because she just wanted to "combine it for a minute" so she could try it and give it back.

While this was not a scam, I did find it hilarious when one girl on my friends list sent me a message telling me to give her my stuff so she could sell it for credits. Hey, at least she was honest about it upfront.

Eh... I guess I've technically been scammed, but it wasn't a big deal. I didn't lose anything major and when I found out that what I was given was buyable, my reaction was this:

So I don't really count that as a scam. Aside from that, I have traded with non-Dis members maybe twice. I stick with Dis trades and no Diser has ever scammed me.

I answered that I was scammed on a code trade (got a code for something that wasn't what I traded for)- it was awhile ago. But, I also have been scammed on 'part' of a trade (was told he would 'get me another one' "soon"...still waiting) - Really, I don't trade now unless it is one of my close friends. (I gift more than I trade )

There are two ppl here on the dis boards -cough cough- who still own me a magic pin each for a movie reward code I gave them first ( on the honor system)

I basically just trade with others on the DIS. Other then that I don't really trade with other VMKers. I trust DISers. I may be trusting them more then I should seeing what's happening to everyone, but I still trust most DISers more than the other VMKers.
