Back in the Jan timeframe, we had a need to monitor Sienna's weight (brown torbie kitty in my sig). So we went by Bed Bath and Beyond and got a nice digital scale that claimed to be accurate to within 2 tenths of a pound.
Sure, it measures in 2 tenths of a pound alright, but I think it takes your weight, then a random number between 0 and 10, and randomly adds or subtracts that number from your real weight.
We figured okay, so what if it's not too accurate at different times of the day -- as long as we measure ourselves, then pick up Sienna and measure again, it should be consistant, right?
WRONG!
I've done this several times... last night, I stepped on the scale and got a reading. Stepped off, counted to ten, and stepped on again and had a different one -- 5 pounds heavier!!
I *know* that nothing in *my* condition changed by 5 pounds in 10-20 seconds.
I'm considering getting a different scale, but wondering a) if it's worth it, and b) if there are any that actually *work*.
