SBers... are you "users" or "savers"?

When you buy something new for your scrapping "collection" do you tend to try to use it right away, or do it you save it, hoping to find just the right page for it?? (Assuming you didn't buy it with a specific LO in mind already.)

I love to BUY scrapping supplies, but I find I tend to save them "just in case". Like if I use it now, then someday I might have just the right LO and won't have the _________ (sticker, punch, accent, whatever) to use because I used it previously.

I recently decided to try breaking out of that habit. I bought myself some new stuff at the Target dollar spot and made an effort to use it within 7 days. I bought it, I used it, and I love it!! I'm going to give myself a goal of using some of my older stuff this month, instead of letting is sit and collect dust for that "just in case" page. I'm gonna use it and love it and not regret it! How about you???........................P

My motto for some time now has been..."use what you have". I keep trying not to buy anything I don't actually "need". But of course, it isn't working.

I try to use what I have so that I don't feel guilty when I buy new stuff. To me, saving it is a waste, why have all of this cute stuff packed in a bag instead of on your layouts for everyone (and you) to enjoy.

I'm a saver, but I'm trying to break that habit (mainly because I'm so sick of moving tons of paper, stickers, etc. every time we change residences!!).

However, the SBing fund is pretty well gone right now, so now I get to use what I have. Forces me to be creative, that's for sure!

It depends, if I'm working on a layout I try to use what I have - unless of course that isn't possible because I've run out of some basic whatever or nothing works.

I will, however, pick up paper, stickers, etc for layouts I know I'll be working on in the relatively near future or that I want some element of a longer project to match. For instance, over the past 6 months or so if I saw something that would be good for the book I'll be starting as soon as I can get back to my scrap table on DS's trip to Brazil I picked it up. Also I have an ongoing theme in kids' high school books so even though DD is just starting her soph year when I started that book I picked up matching title items for all four years and graduation.

I have a general idea of what I will and won't use, so I buy it when I see it (or I'll forget where I saw it when I need it!). Now that I have a lovely scrap "studio", I have room to store things so they are available when I get to that project.

I am both. One thing I like to do is scan all of my stickers and tags and whatever else I think I may want to use again in another layout. That way I am using it but at the same time I have it to use again.

I see new stuff and buy it thinking "I can use this on such and such page" then when I get to those pages I forget what I have bought so end up using something else or I look at what I have bought and can't remember what I was going to use it on. Maybe I should come up with some kind of system to make notes of what I have and why I bought it so I won't forget.

Sales! I love sales! I usually buy paper and stickers to go with pages I am doing. Tools, tools, tools have to have if it is a bargin (like some others on this board Hee hee)

I'm probably a saver. When I get something new I try and think of a page I could use it on. My mum is forever sending me bits and pieces (she tends to bulk buy so she splits packs and sends me some) and when I get something from her I'll immediately start thinking of pictures I could scrap so I could use those bits!

Me, too! I'm getting a little better about not buying duplicates, but I tend to buy before I scrap to get sales & clearance.

I am generally an user, but when I see something that reminds me of one of my kids (paper or embellishment) I snatch it up and there it sits waiting for me to use it. I'm not saving it, per se, but I haven't figured out how to use it yet.

i am definitely a saver!!!!!!!!

my friends think i am absolutely nuts because i usually buy 2 of everything that i buy...one because i want/need/going on a lo, and 2 because if i use 1, then i will still have it so i can use it again.

this still doesn't work because i don't end up using either...i am plagued buy that horrible if i use it i won't have it anymore...then it won't be available!!!

but as somebody said...use them...they'll look better, and will be more appreciated in a scrapbook than in whatever you store them in!!!

I guess I'm a little of both. I try to buy stickers or paper for a particular layout but then I don't use them all or decide to do something else thinking I'll "save" the rest for next L/O. Like others, I'm trying to use what I have instead of buying new stuff but I can't pass up a great sale! JoAnne's gets me ALL the time when their C/S is on sale!!

I am trying hard to use up what I have. my problem I forget what I have. I never believed in making page kids..but now I do! Not full kits like some do but if I am going to a crop I pull my pictures and then pull all the stuff I have that might go with the pictures! in hopes to use it,
I have also gotten to the point of tossing! Stickers that have just a few left....I think I am going to purge paper I am going to a crop and they have a yard sale table. maybe I can get a few bucks for it!

i used to buy just to buy... but I had so much unused stuff!!

so now I use what I have... if I don't have something I want for a LO I go buy it.

Oh I'm a horder. When I see new stuff in magazines and online...I want to have it. And don't even get me started on any new Disney stuff that comes out... YIKES!!!! I could go to Disney 10 times and not use all the embellishements and paper I have, but that doesn't stop me from getting the new latest and greatest. On the fiip side, when I actually sit down to work, I do use the paper and embellishements I have stashed, but like others have said....I could open a small store with all the paper and such I have. My bf and I even made a use your stash challenge this month and not buy anything...of course I failed miserably. When the new Disney Sandylion and EK success stuff came out....had to have it. Couldn't even wait one month to get it! I might "need" it when I start working on my Disney 2005 album.
