I don't know what's wrong with me. It's been almost 3 months since I've done a page. :(

I'm interested. I read boards. I look at mags. I've visited 2 LSS for the first time - previously shopping online. I've "planned" a few pages in my head. I've bought a few things for those pages. I get out of work each day thinking "Today, I'll do that page".

But I get home....... and then...... nothing. No interest to sit down & do it. (Actually, not alot of interest to do alot of things --- like cooking or housekeeping ----but that's another story.) LOL :D

I would rather just DIS or watch HGTV.

How long have you ever gone without scrapping? How can I get over this? I JUST want to finish this album.... and MAYBE never do another. :( ( Or at least a VERY simple clean all pages look alike type album.)

I've gone several months before. Usually it's because life has gotten busy or I can't decide which album to start next. (I can't seem to have 2 albums going at once- I still need to learn that!)
Or sometimes I get stuck on a page and since I do them in chronological order I'll kind of "freeze" for awhile.
I've found that going to a crop will sometimes help me jump back in. Or a new scrapping tool!;) Sounds like it's time to go shopping!!

Yes, I'm kinda "frozen" right know. I don't scrap chronological -- but I'm working on my WDW 2000 trip. I finished certain sections. I've done MK. Have 3 parks left to do. I've finished the "extras" of the trip pretty much -- have a few more to do. It will be a BIG album if it's ever done. LOL

But, I'm finding that the scrapping industry style has changed from cutesy to clean. The part I've finished is cutesy -- even though I think I struggled with it at times.
I want the other sections to look like the same style - but be a bit different. I haven't done any "clean" style yet. I don't want the book to look like it took 3 years & be a sample of "scrapping style of the times". LOL

I think I'm holding off because cutesy was hard for me .... and I want the rest of the book to match.

I should have scrapped other pages in my life first to find my style --- and then done this whole album in my comfortable style. Instead this was my first album ...and I've been trying to find my style while doing it without it looking like 4 people worked on it. LOL

It give me a good jump start if I can sit down with a scrapping friend. Sometimes we work on the same thing (like a paper piecing) or just sit together while we work on different projects. We share ideas and visit while we work. It's fun and I never fail to be fired up when I return home.

I've gone through a lot of periods of "scrapper's block". For me, I just have to force myself to sit down and start working. Otherwise, I just get further and further behind.

I find to that if I actually go and sit down and just get started it will come to me!! And then I end up there for hours! I wish I had someone here to scrap with-it would be so much fun-shop talk and all!

I went for almost a year right after I started... I think I got really down because of all the other pages I had seen... I just decided its not what they look like that is important, it is getting my pictures in a book... by doing that, I took alot of stress off of myself and now I average 8-10 pages a week... but I am still behind:)

I go though slow or nonexistant phases too. I cranked out a lot of stuff in June. Make a 40 page teacher album, finished DD ballet pictures from the past year, and school album plus some odd pages for the kids life album. I really thought wow if I keep doing this I will be caught up but then it stopped!
I keep purchasing stuff and looking but I just can't get started.
I was so looking forward to my CM hosting scraps, she had planned at least 3 this summer then called and said she wasn't going to sell anymore....
But tomorrow my friend and I getting together to let the kids swim and play while we scrap! So I hope to get a jump start!
It is amazing what blocks you! I think my biggest problem is which album to use! Sounds silly! But I have a Disney trip and my son's school book to start. Initially I was going to do my son's album in CM book. And Disney in My SIAS book. But now I am afraid if I need more pages for DS's book I won't have them...I don't want to find a new CM person. Nancy plans to start again in about 2 years and plus I want to use SIAS books.....oh well!

I think the longest I've gone without scrapping is probably over a year, but then I became a CMC. However, I am now in my longest scrapper's block. I cranked out over 70 pages from mid-January to the end of March. I haven't touched anything since. Part of that was due to horrible morning sickness, but now I'm in my second trimester and I still can't get motivated. However, I'm getting together with girlfriends next week and I'm hoping to get caught up. I've got two short trips and a two week European trip to scrap before this baby comes in December. I had best get motivated and get my butt in gear!

I have also found that working on a very easy page can help. I also find cropping at a crop or even with someone else tends to get the juices flowing again. I know I did go through a phase where I was stumped and realized it was because I was spending too much time comparing my work to others. Now I try to scrap for me and have found it a lot smoother road.

Good Luck it can be frustrating!!

Thanks everyone! It is so nice to see that I am not alone. I was thinking there must be something "WRONG" with me. LOL

Thanks again. I'm hoping to at least sit down and TRY this weekend. Hopefully it will all fall back into place. I've never been one to be able to sit & get tons of pages done. That's not me. I'll be happy with at least a 2 page spread for the weekend. LOL

Wish me luck!
