I've been reading about the different mags that you read. I think I would really get some use out of them, too. Where do you get the subscriptions from? How much are they? Where is the cheapest place to oreder from?(sites with discounts on SB mags)

Unfortunately, I haven't seen any scrapbook mag. subscriptions discounted (and I've ordered a bunch from those nifty cheapie sites! LOL). You can order them either using the subscription cards in the mags or from any of their websites. Some of them are:

http://www.simplescrapbooksmag.com/

http://www.memorymakersmagazine.com/index.asp (On this site, you can receive an issue free before deciding if you want to subscribe or not)

http://www.paperkuts.com/

HTH! :)

I would say that although the magazines don't show up on any discount sites - buying a subscription is much cheaper than buying them on the newsstand (generally half price)

These magazines run $5-8 per issue while full year subscriptions are roughly $25. Also Memory Makers and CK offer special issues along with their monthly/bimonthly issues so it may make sense for you to find one you love. Log onto the websites and view the current issues. If you want to buy a sample issue - try a large bookstore, craft store or LSS. (I generally find the best selection at Barnes & Noble or Borders over AC Moore/Michaels or my LSS)

Another magazine is Scrapbooks etc (published by Better Homes)

It really helps a lot to do some research before getting a subscription (especially if you are new to scrapbooking). Each mag has its own style/strenghts/focus. Some are geared more for people with children, others you'll see more 12x12 layouts than other sizes, some focus on creating masterpieces while others focus on just getting the pics into a safe place. Poke around at the websites that were posted, or better yet try to flip through the different mags at a book store/craft store.

Thanks for the websites! I've got a gc for barnes and noble, so I guess I will check out the magazines the next time I am there to see which one I will start with. So far, I've been checking out pages people have done on the internet and found some great ideas. I do have one of the disney books, but I can only look at one book for so long before I get really bored. ;) Thanks for the help!
