While I was thinking of neat ideas of the CM 7x7 Disney idea, I thought of maybe starting an album of hidden mickeys. Has anyone else done this? Think I'll find enough?

That's a great idea! It'd probably make you look for them more when you're there.

OT - What's the purple ribbon for? I was gone for ~ a week and a half and now they're all over the place.

There's a fun book you could buy to help you...

Hidden Mickeys: A Field Guide to Walt Disney World's Best Kept Secrets by Steven M. Barrett

I bought my copy on Amazon.

Have fun!

This is exactly what I am going to use my 7x7 album for! As KMH1 suggested, I bought the Hidden Mickey book and plan to use it to find hidden mickeys. Also, you can ask CM to help you locate them.

I can't wait to see how the album turns out! ::yes::

Actually, it's not as OT as you might thing. I usually hang out at the cruise board and there's one wonderful poster, EmmasGrammy, who also hangs out there. Just a couple of months ago in fact, their whole family went on a Disney Cruise and posted the most wonderful pictures of Emma, her baby sister Sophie, etc. Well, within the past month Emma's Mommy, Daddy and sister Sophie were caught in their burning house. Mommy and Emma didn't make it, Daddy's okay, but Sophie was critically injured. The Cruise board got out donation information, etc., and also began using this purple ribbon as a reminder to pray for little Sophie and her family. The Sophie update thread is: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=634170

Just a reminder to us all how fragile life is and that we need to cherish every family moment. Another reason to embrace scrapbooking!

This hidden mickey album is going to be a blast. A whole new excuse to buy Disney SB supplies! Just another reason to go crazy waiting for our trip! :Pinkbounc

When I do albums, on each page I do a little Mickey icon punched paper (got the punch at Michaels). I sometimes hide them poking out of the side of pictures or in a corner, but I think of them as hidden Mickey's. People don't always see them when they look at the albums but then they try to find the one on each page.

I do the same thing!!! (But I use all kinds of Mickeys!)

I LOVE the idea of using the small book as a hidden Mickey Book!!!

could someone explain what this is to me please? and where are they hidden at usually. TIA

At the parks, on the rides, at the hotels - mickeys are "hidden" for those with eagle eyes to spot. Some you have to be a real hunter to find - I looked FOREVER on the Indy ride at DL until I finally read where it was. Some are a bit easier. There is a book you can buy that lists Hidden Mickeys or you can do an online search.

Has anyone done the self-guided Hidden Mickey at WL? DH and I were thining of doing it with the kids when we go.

It's a fun little thing the Imagineers have done -- sort of like the "Easter Eggs" in computer programs. they've incorporated the Mickey icon (the three circles that make the head and ears) :earsboy: into all sorts of places all over hte parks and resorts. So, you can play a little "hidden pictures" game and try to spot the cleverly hidden Mickeys. Make sense?

I'm aware of the hidden Mickey's , but I'm not sure I understand your book. Are you taking pictures of all of them and scrapping them or are you hiding Mickey's on your Disney album pages? Both sould like good ideas actually.

Pammy jo: My original thought was to take pictures of the HM's and scrap them. But I LOVE the idea of hiding a Mickey on my page, too. Another reason to love these boards! What a great idea...

long time no post...

Anyways...I did a hidden mickey page, AND hide a mickey on all my DISNEY pages.

Check them out at My Albums

I did a Hidden Mickey album last year. I bought a circle head punch. Each page has one hidden mickey punchie camouflaged on the page somewhere. Some pages have matching cardstock punchies, and some pages have punchies from photo scraps. I think the hardest one to find is a photo of trees (maybe in AK), and a punchie made from a cropped-off piece of the same trees. It's glued on top of the trees, and the kids always have to rub their hands across the page to find it.

It's such fun because we love to look for Hidden Mickeys in WDW, and now we always have fun finding the Hidden Mickeys on the pages in that album!
